I think Chris Rock embarrassed Will Smith's wife on national TV, so Will Smith decided to embarrass Chris Rock on national TV.

Ok, but is that how we should act?
Will and Chris are both accalimed and looked up to.....I was shocked.

My name is Tim and that's between them.
The Oscars are probably just happy that folks are still talking about their award show.

Never a fan of violence.... I'm a huge Chris Rock fan.....much more so than I am a Will Smith fan (though I respect his accomplishments).....
I'm with Will Smith on this one. Chris Rock was out of line. When you are willing to make a cheap joke at someone's expense on national/worldwide TV.....AND IT'S ABOUT A MEDICAL ISSUE....then you deserve what's coming to you. This wasn't a simple wise crack. He cracked on her alopecia which everybody knows she's had to come to grips with.
You don't disrespect a man's wife like this in front of his face and think it's gonna be cool.
Again - I'm a huge Chris Rock fan....but he got what he got.

I didn't know either. But when you make a public joke about somebody's physical appearance you are really rolling the dice.

This is just a total bad look, but Will was right for defending his wife!

This is just a total bad look, but Will was right for defending his wife! absolutely will was right for taking up for his wife, but he did so in the “wrong way”. i understand that “emotionally” it was probably difficult for will to hold back, but he must not resort to “violence” in response to a “joke”. heck, i can’t even imagine how many folks will smith himself has “offended” with his jokes i think he reacted by impulse, but you just can’t do that. he should’ve handled it in a different way, not by “violence” (though its understandable). and chris rock doesn’t get off easy either. his joke of someone’s illness is “inappropriate” and straight up “distasteful”. so much so, that i’m almost inclined to say he deserved what he got. some things should be “off limits” for comedians and someone’s illness is one of them...

I thought the joke was dumb, but from what I saw if I saw it correctly at first Will thought it was funny. He appeared to be laughing while Jada was rolling her eyes. Next thing you know he walks up to Chris all hard and smacks him, then is sitting down talm bout "keep my wife's name outcho fukcin mouf." Looks to me like Will got punked by Jada. The same Jada that publicly had his a$$ sitting at a red table telling him about how she was in an "entanglement" with some dude young enough to be his kid. If you wanted to smack somebody Will, you shoulda started with them two.
That wasn't him standing up for his wife as much as him punking out for his wife and weakly attempting to stand up for himself by bullying the host who wouldn't do sheeet back to him. Punk move. Dude is stressed and obviously there's some continued stress in their relationship that caused him to feel he had to be Tupac at that moment as opposed to discussing it later in private.
Where was Jada when Dr. Doolittle was getting clowned to death over his weight by Chappelle? Sitting there quietly. How she gone expect more from her spouse is beyond me, but she was able to get it.

Spot on DOOMS. Will looks as though he is under some spell from Jada. He absolutely thought it was funny initially which I agree with you DOOMS; the joke was wack.

thing is, initially it might've been funny to will. but if his wife is hurt and/or offended by the joke, then to me will was responding to how it made his wife feel, not how it made him feel. i mean, i ain't gone try to get into nobody's head. but if someone said something about my significant other that offended her, i would've stood up for her too. just that i wouldn't have resorted to "violence"...
