Pretty much writing a check you know you can’t cash right now. They’re gonna force themselves to expedite a process that they wanted to do in 6 or so years because they got an invitation sooner than expected? Spend more money to stomp with the big dogs & anticipate getting trampled by them athletically for the coming years in most sports. I’m genuinely not trying to be negative because I can see both sides of this, but that part doesn’t make sense. It seems extremely hasty My expectation and based on Dr. Martin's comments, I believe we would have gone to the CAA initially if they would have had the divisions breakout. That said, I don't believe our competitive level will be as bad as some might think. It makes sense to me (get it while you can) and I'm good with it. Let's go!

It seems extremely hasty Between what Oklahoma and Texas set off and all of this NCAA Division restructuring, we couldn't sit idle. Otherwise, we'd be filling out an application to rejoin the CIAA at that point because some of these FCS conferences are not going to make the D1 cut.

Hardest part about this is going to be watching folks try to force rivalries with one of these schools, like trying to force one with Elon lmao. Force rivalries how?

I appreciate the positivity but I genuinely don’t see a single sport we can compete in right now except track. Men’s basketball would get blown out the water, women’s basketball is a toss up but I think their ceiling would be middle of the pack, football the same as WBB, bowling might be successful, volleyball a toss up, etc etc. I don’t see it

All I will say is that we are not ready for this move. Financially, competitively, and facility wise. I don't care what conference we are in, all I care about is winning. Winning takes financial support. We cannot compete with institutions who have tremendous backing like JMU, W&M, Villanova, Richmond. The Big South exposed us, proving that their was a learning curve, and now we are about to cross a hurdle I don't think we can cross. I just don't see it. It exposed our coaching, not facilities or talent. Facilities is not our issue, it’s coaching always has been and will continue to be if we recycle coaches.

Coach Jones has more talent on the men’s basketball team than any team in the BSC.
Again it’s not facilities or players, it’s coaching

I don't understand why people don't see this. I don't give a damn about fitting in to a certain conference because of their name or who's in it. We are not ready to compete at this level. It's okay to admit that and keep it moving. There are different levels of division 1 athletics. Show signs of thriving at whatever particular level you're on before contemplating some type of move. It's like we have this hunger to be in the "it crowd." I could give a damn who the "it crowd" is......if I ain't "it," then it's a moot point.

Get some other teams to join the Big South. The players that are here will suffer some more through all the changes. Maybe the transfer portal will be good for the players to join so they can go some where that is more stable. We know coaching changes will happen. I am sure they see the writing on the wall.

We can start over with new players 🤷🏾♂️ No one is going to beg them to stay, there are plenty of kids that want to play at A&T If a player doesn’t want to compete at the highest level of FCS football then we don’t need them How many players transferred because we left the MEAC? 0 Coaching changes are going to happen regardless of conference affiliation

However, if we sat idly by and let this NCAA D1 constitution reorg catch us slipping, we may as well apply to join the CIAA because that is where we would be going thanks to the Power 5. We need to stay D1 at this point and the Big South and MEAC are about to be left behind, unfortunately.

The Big South is gradually dissolving..... Where is the proof of the MEAC being "left behind?"

Literally none of the facilities are comparable on an upper fcs level. Stadium needs a ton of improvement. Corbett is lit like a closet lamp, has odd seating, and literally has a middle school trophy case sitting in it. Moore is ancient. War Memorial speaks for itself.
