undisciplined play and behavior has become a culture so, new players believe that's what they are supposed to do. Damn. That is a scary thought.

It really is and what makes it worse is on gameday, that (discipline) is something that cannot be corrected. I've heard people say, "Take this player out, take that player out," but, what are you going to do...take everyone out the game? That cultural change has to take place in the offseason which should be taking place now.

Does A&T football have a culture crisis? I think that is a legitimate question right now.

Well, I think you have to look at how the culture affected games this season. Being the most penalized team in the conference and not being able to correct those penalties week to week, it has to be a culture that needs changing! IE. We get a penalty for taunting, we should be able to say to our players, "No more taunting penalties!" And they SHOULD stop...but, it didn't happen.

It is time for the coaches and players to take a stand. 144 yards in penalties will kill any team. Seniors, it is your time to lead. This is your team and we need your leadership and excitement. Let's get excited in the weight room, at practice, and at the games. No need for the stupid penalties. Let your play speak for itself. Hold each other accountable for everything. If not, next man up. We beat ourselves in a lot of the games this season. Put the damn extra work in and you will see the results. We are NC A&T and not a damn scrub team. We deserve better yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Who will jump on the train and put the extra work in? Let's challenge each other daily. If certain players or coaches have to go then be it. We are better than 5-6.

Players are like your kids they can only get away with what you allow them to get away with, that's how you create a culture . And yes Broadway had his disciplinary problems but not to this extent because had a firm hand on his staff and players and they understood Boundaries that were not to be crossed. Washington has to make a concerted effort to set boundaries for this team

The problem will correct itself from within. Those players that are designated as leaders and team members will have to hold each other accountable. With that being said, I still believe BigSouth officials will continue to target us because of what we represent.

I saw Coach Broadway send a player straight to the locker room, he didn't even get to the sideline. I don't recall seeing that from Coach Washington for similar incidents.

I saw Coach Broadway send a player straight to the locker room, he didn't even get to the sideline. "Ol' soft, players coach" Washington sent Amir McNeil to the locker room DURING 2019 GHOE. Amir came back out but with no shoulder pads and helmet, I believe, and didn't play anymore that game. He also made a decision to not allow Korey Banks (Senior and one of our best WRs) to play anymore in the last 3 games for some reason that I don't know.t Sarcasm on the "Ol' soft, players coach" part.

I think Gator is trolling us. I spit out my coffee. Which is amazing because I was drinking tequila. That's true, and I remember that. I have no idea why it wasn't getting through to some of the guys though.

It's not getting through because it's out of character for this coach, so players just take it as a one off. You can't effectively change your stripes at midseason. You can't all of a sudden become serious on the big stuff. When I saw how sloppy our pregame drills were at Furman versus how sharp Furman was, I knew we were in trouble. Guys were just going through the motions like it really didn't matter. Receivers were rounding of routes, Fowler was missing throws, players were not finishing off drills. We didn't even have the discipline to do calisthenics with some level of purpose. It was horrible. That theme proved true all season. And won't even go into how they were their uniforms. Those are the little things that indicate there is a bigger problem lurking.

Some kids get really amped up and I'll say Amir is one of them. He's an "I don't take no junk." kid who probably has a chip on his shoulder because he's not a big kid that some probably try to take advantage of. Another kid that was pretty notorious for after the whistle/out of bounds penalties was Antoine Wilder (Headless Horseman). Let me also say that I remember a Charlotte visit by Dr. Martin a few years ago and it being said basically that we had been getting kids that were too nice and needed to do a better job of getting kids that weren't so nice but could/would do what was needed in the classroom. I agreed with that sentiment...Mean Scholars.
