I'm reading a lot of speculation. Does anyone have the real facts?

Yup. The real facts are we get bullied around at the line of scrimmage by other teams in our conference. These same teams get bullied around by other teams outside the conference (Will & Mar embarassed Hampton at the line). It's been that way for a while.
I remember when JSU came to Aggie stadium. They pushed us around like paperweights. I asked Small about it when he was first hired and he let me know without saying it that the guys were kinda small (no pun intended) and weak. He talked about teaching them to play with technique and leverage.
Winning and losing starts at the line. I think that Small's recruits will have a better showing in that regard.

Why not test the whole team based on the 225 lb bench press reps? That would be interesting to know.

I'm betting Doug Brown would win that one.

Exactly! It's the same thing I cried about all last season after seeing the WF game. I still can't shake the image of their rb, wr's and even qb running over our guys like tackling dummies. No way were these guys in the weight room like they should have been when our biggest player get's out repped by a wide receiver. I'm with Aggie One on this one.

Hopefully, these guys have realized what they're up against and will take it upon themselves to do better.

If one of Dee Todd's objectives is to make sure we get a I-A team on the schedule each year starting in 2006, that means this strength issue becomes much more important.
Remember Christi is the strength and conditioning coordinator forall sports over 300 athletes. Should there be someone for football only?

What we'll see from Dee Todd is the same thing we have seen from Renick in the remaking of the campus, academics, and faculty.
She intends build a solid infrastructure in the athletic department across the board in terms of tools to recruit, retain, and graduate athletes so A&T can compete with programs of dominance and high aspirations on the 1-AA level in football.
Also look for additional moves be to made short term to be able to actually compete favorably on a D-1 level primarily in basketball and track(revenue makers), while adding and sustaining the required number of athletic programs by the NCAA by the beginning of the next decade to make the move to D-1 a viable one and avoid a similar 1-A suicide attempt that got FAMU nothing but total administrative breakdown and public humilation.

A&T's strength and conditioning coach("coach A") has resigned from her position as of 05-18-05. She stated her reason for resigning is to go back to school to become a sports nutritionist. Dee Todd has already said that she will bring in the best strength coach avaliable. She needs to bring them in as soon as possible to get the team ready for that 3 games in 10 days stretch.

She might wanna bring in more than one if we're serious about this stuff.

Yea you are right. I realize everything get back to having a huge AD budget. But if you looked at Wake forest Football advertisement at last year when A&T game. They had over 5 guys as their strength and training coach. That’s just for football. We also need a dietician. It all about eating the right food to build muscle and to be lean at the same time. That's come with both body building and eating healthy.
I heard rumors that Rienick is trying to hire a registered Dietcian for the Athelete Department. Has anyone heard about this rumor?

Nope, but they damn sure need to. Granted, with the internet it's not hard to find ways to tweak your performance, but it's much easier to have someone tell you the best ways when you have classes and practice to attend to as well.
