Rolled up to a golf course in South Carolina and the young white guy that handled my A&T golf bag asked me if I played at A&T. I asked him what he knew about A&T and he said he followed all the top college teams in the Carolinas. Needless to say, he got a nice tip!

I'll play! On vacation in Boston waiting for the start of a city tour. I was wearing an A&T T-shirt when a young white girl asked me if I went to A&T. I told her I was an alum. She was from North Carolina and knew about the university.
Also, years ago, I was in DCA, wearing an A&T sweatshirt, when I got an "Aggie Pride" from Jesse Jackson, Jr.

I'm in Durham. And it's weird. Black NCCU Alums love to break the ice. If it's a Mom with a child (talking mild smack) I would say that we are going to need some more engineers...pointing at the child, and She melts.
If it's just a Black NCCU Woman for instance, and we are around mixed company, or just Black Folk who may be Carolina Crazy, I would say that 'I could use a few of your Lawyers from over there (deflecting the praise). And SHE melts! It's weird, it's like that we have a shared vibe coming from a HBCU.
Hip High-Schoolers among their crew, say "Aggie Pride"
App State people ect, ask about the School.
One last thing, Whenever we travel in Football ie UNC-C, Duke ect I get an added boost of Pride seeing the Aggie Nation. Picture The Band is Killing a song in the stands ect, I turn around and I notice the Home team's children checking us out... with a like "wow", I like them" Vibe.

I can't find it but I thought we had a previous thread that referenced how someone always wears Aggie gear when they travel especially through airports. I know I personally do and it's amazing how often I'll get a random "Aggie Pride" across a corridor. I even had one at the airport in Portland, OR. I was traveling for work and guy with me was like "did you know them" lol. I told him "no, they just recognized my sweatshirt." I must admit it does bring a smile to my face to see the blue and gold when I travel and I make it a point to offer a hearty "Aggie Pride" if I see some gear. I do the same literally every time I travel. I make it my business to wear A&T para. I have traveled weekly for the past fifteen years and always wear aggie gear. For the past four years I wore an aggie t-shirt every Thursday on my way home. One of the most memorable encounters was in the Atlanta airport where a student from Brooklyn stopped me to ask about A&T (she was on a college tour trip and A&T was not included in the tour). We talked and I referred her to the web site for admissions.

I wear a lot of A&T gear here and I have three A&T car flags that I rotate and fly almost every day. Most of the comments I get come from local high school and college kids.
Last Saturday, I was in Academy Sports with an Aggies shirt. A young female asked me if I'm an A&T grad. She said that she wanted to go to A&T out of high school but her parents told her that it was too far away from home. (That's a comment that I've heard on several occasions here.)
But there are a healthy number of Aggies living in Tallahassee, so it's not like A&T is unknown around here.

Florida at one point was one of A&T's most successful recruiting States outside of Georgia .

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite threads, it definitely beats "grass" debates.

I think my favorite occurrence was when I was in Tobago and these two FIIIINNNEE sistas came up to me at the beach when I had on a muscle tee that simply said AGGIE PRIDE with a picture of the dog. They asked if I went to NC A&T with their smooth island lilts and I was surprised but of course answered in the affirmative. Figured I might've bumped into a good time.
They frowned and said they ran track for SC Steat. I immediately switched gears and started talking about my family in Urngeburg lol.
