I haven’t attended a Basketball game since I was a student 00-03....... I think I need to change that this year and take my son so that he can experience the basketball atmosphere as well. I miss the pep band days for sure

I miss the pep band days for sure Well it was dead last night I'll disagree. If you were on the lower level, there was definitely an atmosphere of excitement... especially considering the students were out. But if there was a game to miss, it was this one. Definitely bring your son to a couple of games. And definitely mark your calendar for Monday, February 17th vs. NCCU.

I guess life is what you make it ... because me and Durham were having the time of our lives last night. lol
That was the most fun I have had at an A&T basketball game in a minute.
We sat on the front row last night and my 10 year old son acted like he had floor seats for the Lakers. I might have to break down and get season tickets now.

I also like how all the players came across the court after the game and thanked the fans for coming out.
That was a classy gesture.
My son said "hey, a couple of players just gave me a fist bump!"
He was talking about that the whole ride home.

One could only hope that the NCCU/A&T games this year will be as riveting as the one last night. I'm like BT.....I had a great time last night at the game. The folks around me too had a great time too.
The DJ wasn't hitting on much......but honestly, there was enough going on within the game to where nothing was needed to hype up the competition on the floor.

Official attendance last night was 1,412. Considering that students were out... that's quite good as the floor for the MEAC season.
The sports entertainment value for A&T Basketball just went up-up with the Men picking up along with the Women's sustained success.
Get your tickets now if you don't have 'em already!

Fred Cleveland went into the crowd and dapped up the fans before the end of the first half when he locked up #2 of FAMU who was trying his best to break his ankles (but failed miserably). If fans didn't enjoy that, they just don't like basketball. That was hilarious!!

i watched from home and only saw the last 9 minutes of the game as well as overtime. but given that the students haven't returned yet and that famu is not a major basketball rival for us, i thought the atmosphere looked pretty good over the internet. and if kwe keeps throwing down "oops" like he did last night, he'll have the students "exploding" in the stands when they return.
i saw dr. martin in stands along with his wife. its always good to see the chancellor supporting our sports and it let's me know that he's well aware of what's going on with men's basketball. that also let's me know that men's basketball is in good hands and will be taken care of, that's a very "reassuring" feeling.
we have a fairly young team, we lose 2 major impact bigs to graduation next season (jackson & haygood) that we need to replace. but other than that, we shouldn't miss a beat next season and possibly could be even better if our young guys continue to improve as i suspect they will.
i think this program is heading in the right direction which is why i didn't panic when we went thru the early season "winning drought"...

Part of that team is making sure that the Men's Hoops team is connected to the A&T fan base and winning culture. Last night's gesture was a start for that.
