West coast, but why did A&T not purchase the land from the get go? Good question. It was purchased by HOP back in the 2000s When Rennick was around. We weren’t in the land grabbing mode we are in now, if I recall.

A dedicated QB coach and passing game coordinator Curious, but did you see Kylil Carter in the Celebration Bowl?

Curious, but did you watch the last three games of the season?
We averaged 55 points during that stretch.

There is no reason why our offense shouldn’t have been clicking like that the entire season. Having a dedicated QB is essential to having an elite offense.

Please elaborate on why you feel that is a need at this point.
What do you think a new QB coach and passing game coordinator would be able to accomplish that we currently are not doing?

Please elaborate on why you feel that is a need at this point. What do you think a new QB coach and passing game coordinator would be able to accomplish that we currently are not doing? With the offensive weapons we have we should have scored a lot more points through out the season. We had 2 of the best WR in the MEAC and FCS as a whole and we struggled to score points through the air for the majority of the season. FAMU and Alcorn State both have QB coaches and one could say that their passing game was light years ahead of ours even though as an offense we have more talent. As we increase the level of competition more attention must be paid the most critical position on the field. In practice the OC should be focused on the offense in totality vs focusing on QBs footwork, reads and those things.

I'm not sure how realistic your expectations are.
We played 12 games this season. We scored 31 points or more in 7 of them.
We score 45 points or more 5 times.
We led the MEAC in total offense, scoring offense, and rushing offense. We were third in pass efficiency.
I was as critical about Barnette as anybody this year, but the end results simply do not lie.
You can bring in somebody new this offseason, but it is unlikely you will be able to improve on that kind of production.

And granted, this was accomplished with a roster of quarterbacks who all started a combined total of one game prior to the season.

And granted, this was accomplished with a roster of quarterbacks who all started a combined total of one game prior to the season. How many starts did the Alcorn QB have prior to the season? He threw 33 touchdowns this season. As a team A&T threw 15 in 2019, 24 in 2018, 28 in 2017 Having young and inexperienced QBs is more of a reason to have a dedicated coach/passing game coord. To put things in context, even the New Orleans Saints have a dedicated QB coach and they have an experienced QB.

You do understand that Alcorn State's offense was based on the pass, whereas our offense is always centered around establishing the run?
Alcorn' QB might have thrown for more touchdowns this year ... but we had 12 more rushing TDs than they did. In the end, their offense had 57 total touchdowns on the season and our offense had 55.
Also, it is unlikely that you will find an offensive coordinator at the FCS level who doesn't coach a position.
When Hester was here he was the offensive coordinator ... and the wide receivers coach.
Barnette was just the dedicated quarterbacks coach under Hester. He maintained that role when he was promoted to offensive coordinator. Obviously, that is his main expertise.
