Oh and he will be playing Cornerback and not safety for those who are speculating š So who do you think comes off the field? Amir was the best corner on the team this season and McCain was an All-American two years ago.

Instead of using an OLB as my big nickel, I use Crossen as my big nickel/slot. That would certainly help remedy our biggest matchup problem against FAMU & SC Steat. But I'm just a fan...

Kittles would play into the mix at safety. I would assume he will be granted an extra year after missing the entire season. Lets not forget Kittles was MVP of Celebration Bowl in 2018. From a 2019 shaky secondary this could be and anchor in 2020. This is shaping up to be a monster defensive unit.

Id just like to point out that this year Amir Mcneil was moved to safety in some instances and I think he would be good at free. if crossen does indeed play corner.
Dudley boyz manning the corner spots next year is going to be pretty cool

I think this coaching staff is gonna have to swallow their pride and rethink some of their core defensive philosophies this offseason. We are coming off two straight Celebration Bowl games where Alcorn State has exploited some major deficiencies in our defense - in 2018 via the run and this year through the air. We really had no answer for Alcorn State's adjustments in the second half; we just kept our foot of the gas offensively so the lead never got under double digits.

We gotta figure out a way to go to either more of a traditional look. In fact, I wouldnāt be surprised if we move to more of a 3-man front to keep more of these players on the field. With Howard and Roberts as the ILBs, we would have tons of flexibility in getting the best guys out there and throwing different schemes at teams, while improving our play against slot receivers.

The logical and the most likely move: The corners stay intact with McCain and McNeil, Crossen to free safety and Kittles stays at the Rover, exactly where he was going to start before he got hurt in preseason last year.

For some reason Doug Brown and all the Dudley folks think Crossen can only play corner. I try to tell them that he was recruited by Va Tech to be a safety, but they keep saying he is just a corner.

3-3-5 would be a good fit for us

Yeah he's coming back. That was decided a while back. Good deal, would and could Amir or Mac play the FS? I think defensive back coach Thomas Howard is gonna have to go back to the drawing board and just rework basic fundamentals with all of these guys. I've started re-watching game film from this season and there is just bad technique all over the place. We are suckers for the double move, nobody backpedals all that well, and our tackling in the open field was just abysmal.
