It’s simple, right? An Aggies win over their arch nemesis N.C. Central on Saturday mans they are headed to another Air Force Reserve Celebration Bowl in December. That will be easier written than done on the field. The Eagles are the Aggies chief rival and they would like nothing better than to send the Aggies home without a postseason berth.
The Aggies recovered from their loss to Morgan State last week by dominating Bethune-Cookman in all facets of the game. The Aggies were especially dominant in the running game. The Aggies ran the ball 50 times for 300 yards and five touchdowns in their 47-17 win over the Wildcats. Later in the game, they put in backup quarterback Jalen Fowler and Fowler carved the Wildcats apart through the air. He threw for 105 yards and two touchdowns on 5-for-6 passing to complete the blowout.
N.C. Central has ruined the Aggies party before. In 2014, they defeated the Aggies in Durham to send N.C. A&T into a five-way tie for the conference championship. The loss left the Aggies out of the NCAA Division I-FCS Playoffs. The following year, the Eagles defeated the Aggies in Greensboro costing N.C. A&T another outright MEAC championships even though the Aggies did win the tiebreaker to advance to the Celebration Bowl.
