Dont feel like using google right now.
Just moved to a new house and found a bunch of old A&T football games on VHS tapes.
How can I get those puppies on a jump drive?

You going have to have a play back device first than have the RCA signals feed into some Video software that can convert it to a .mov or MP4, file. Its going to take some work but not hard. You play will be the VCR there are some free open source free software and you need to buy usb 21-pin SCART cable in connected. SCART enables a number of video that you can manage with the SCART conversion cable. check it out videoconverter.wondershare.com/convert-dv/vhs-to-mp4.htmlwindowsreport.com/vhs-converters-windows-pc/

We bought a Roxio Easy VHD to DVD 3 Plus Converter kit a few years back which transfers old VHS tapes to DVDs. We then can rip them to the PC if we want to. Its a extra step but does a pretty decent job.

Those tapes are to precious to trust to the non-professionals. Two words, Legacy Box. Of course you have about twenty years of taps, so it will probably cost you $1k.
Congratulations on the new home! What time is Thanksgiving dinner?

I've been using my old (2006 model) Phillips DVD Recorder to convert VHS to DVD, but there is no fast way to do it other than play the tape and let the recorder copy it.

I was in the process of doing something similar years ago. Young cat suggested Real Player. By the time I was in the process stuff came up but always remembered this idea from a computer savy guy who has relocated. Hope that you have been successful in this project which is indeed a gold mine. If you put copies on sale I am interested. Peace.

I haven't done a damn thing. All those VHS tapes are still sitting on my bookshelf, looking right back at me.
I need to find some time this weekend to revisit this project.

Well...me, neither. My azz has been in Walmart 200 times during the Holidays and I never once asked about their conversion services.

BTW: It takes about 3 weeks if you get Walmart to convert you vhs tape to digital. Maybe even longer now with all the COVID19 stuff.
