10 takeaways from FCS Week 7 By CRAIG HALEY STATS FCS Senior Editor (STATS) - Through the first six weeks of the regular season (oh yes, Week Zero - so seven!), only six teams had moved into the STATS FCS Top 25 since the preseason poll. The season of relative steadiness imploded in Week 7 as 11 ranked teams dropped games, leaving voters left to pick up the many pieces of fractured ballots. Here are 10 takeaways from Week 7 of the FCS season: With two-time defending champ North Carolina A&T (4-1, 2-0) on a bye, the MEAC got even more interesting as Bethune-Cookman and Florida A&M - both 5-1 and 3-0 - inched ahead in the standings. FAMU is under NCAA sanctions and ineligible for the postseason, so the conference race will turn a bit messier if it beats N.C. A&T next Saturday - something record-setting quarterback Ryan Stanley and the Rattlers did last season. Bethune-Cookman doesn't get the other two MEAC unbeatens until the final two weeks of the regular season next month. I’m wanting to go bad but those flight tickets are not in my right before GHOE budget and I’ve never been to Tally so not sure how easy of a drive that will be from Charlotte.

I’m wanting to go bad but those flight tickets are not in my right before GHOE budget and I’ve never been to Tally so not sure how easy of a drive that will be from Charlotte. I’ve driven it MANY times. It’s about 8 hours any way you go: •Charlotte to Atlanta, then I-75 South to Tifton, then US 319 South to Tallahassee; •Charlotte to Columbia to Orangeburg County, then take I-95 to Jacksonville, then I-10 West to Tallahassee; •Charlotte thru Columbia to Augusta, then take backroads to Macon, then take I-75 South to Tifton and Us 319 South to Tallahasse.

A&T quarterback Kylil Carter on remarkable streak as Florida A&M game approaches By Jeff Mills jeff.mills@greensboro.comGREENSBORO — Kylil Carter was a high school senior and all set to be the next great quarterback at Florida A&M. But then the Rattlers, coming off a 40-21 loss at N.C. A&T’s Greatest Homecoming On Earth, fired Coach Earl Holmes eight games into his second season. That October day in 2014 set the stage for this week’s game in Tallahassee, when No. 11 A&T plays Florida A&M on Saturday in Tallahassee. After the coaching change, Carter decided to visit A&T. He committed to the Aggies on the spot, and now the fifth-year player will make his first start against the program he originally chose. “We want this one real bad. Real bad,” Carter says. “We don’t want to lose another game this year. And we especially don’t want to lose to them after the way we lost last year.” For the rest of the story:www.greensboro.com/sports/college/ncat/a-t-quarterback-kylil-carter-on-remarkable-streak-as-florida/article_e0a43d81-7241-5a6c-8ac5-01c2ae260d72.html

I remember 1999 and FAMU had that awesome team and they were going to smoke A&T it was quite the opposite. So we are the big dogs this time but we got take care of business. That was a time I thought FAMU was going to win the National Championship up 24-13 to Youngstown State in the semi before losing 27-24.

Revenge? Nah. It's the next game on the schedule.
I think both teams will try to keep it close to the vest and minimize mistakes. If FAMU gets ahead then Martin stays on the field which they don't want because it wears down their defense and is a risk as far as big run plays. If we get ahead then FAMU runs our dbs ragged and once they figure out the weak spots they'll exploit the hell out of them.
We don't want their receivers breaking open all game and they don't want Martin breaking td runs all game. It's gone be rowdy and bouty in Leon County.

i do not read it as bulletin board material, I read it is competitors hating to lose. They understand what that defeat almost cost them. It also reads to me as focus and they have something to show. Pretty sure the rattlers gonna be ready to, as long as we win though.
