This ain't 1999. Times have changed with the way players are today than they were 20-25 years ago. Coaches don't even coach or have some of the stringent rules that they had back in the day. Looks as though the kids did this spontaneously and it was not planned to disrespect the other team.
I love this picture and to me it shows brotherhood and camaraderie among the players. I do hope NSU put this picture on their bulletin board so they will know they will get their butts whupped again but even worse the next time.
NSS, I am ready for a good end zone dance also.

There is nothing wrong with that picture that is just how today's game is played . If the officials did not throw a flag or give A&T a penalty for excessive celebrating . Who am I to say that those players were wrong . I am willing to bet that there is no one on here that would not celebrate the first the touchdown of their career with there friends . There is a thin line between humbleness and emotional Joy when you are a second or third stringer that got a chance to score their first College touchdown . I wouldn't do it that way but I was raised in a different era we had our thing even back then High 5 , Low 5 , just pointing at your quarterback are lineman . My thing was the Right fist in the air . Let the kids have their fun Coach Washington will handled it .

I remember Wallace Miles' senior year, Broadway's first year...we played Central and our first touchdown pass to Miles the whole offense, 1st and 2nd teamers and the O-line coach, ran to the endzone and celebrated. We received a penalty and commenced to whooping them 28-0. Broadway let it ride...not sure if it was because it was Miles' last game as an Aggie or what but, it happened!

Man that whole thing could’ve been overlooked just as easily as it was flagged... I don’t know if it was the score at the time that made the field judge (or whoever) pull the flag or if it was his way of expressing that’s how I am. Also can’t figure out if number 3 did something more than pose or said something bad, but the penalty was announced called on 3.

You know officials get graded on their performance. They don't let end zone celebrations go without a flag. They have their standards or what they may call standards.

I loved it and hate that it was penalized!
I agree that it could be a turning point for Jalen's confidence. Especially sine he hasn't played significant time in over 2 years.
That said, I expect we won't be seeing it again, since it's a penalty...dang.

Well, after the events in Orangeburg, I believe that celebration penalties will be a point of emphasis.
I don't think this will be a point of conversation after what may have cost S.C. State a shot at the MEAC title.
Oh, yeah, NCCU can relate to it, too.
That's going to be on film that we will have of the game for both teams.
I hate it, I think it sucks, but a rule is a rule and the refs have no fear in throwing the flag, at ANY time.

Good teams don't make those kind of mistakes. A last minute penalty in last year's game helped famu win with one second left. Self discipline is the name of the game, and our opinion doesn't count, nor should it.

That picture is up in the NSU locker room right now. I guarantee it. They need to have a poster on how to tackle 58 point and they upset about a picture If this poster motivates Norfolk to play better, let's send them all the BlueDeathValley photo album. Maybe they will see how much fun our players are having winning and want to do better.

Bet money the picture was up in famu's locker room...
