A&T Win Another Five-Set Match, Remain Unbeaten In MEAC Play NCATAGGIES.COM Fri, Oct 4
BALTIMORE, Md. – North Carolina A&T junior Edie Brewer recorded another triple-double and was two blocks away from a quadruple-double as the Aggies won their second straight five-setter and their third straight overall with their win over Coppin State Friday night at the Physical Education Complex Center, 25-22, 24-26, 25-23, 19-25, 15-11. It was a matchup of two undefeated teams in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) as the Aggies improved to 5-12 overall and 3-0 in the MEAC. Coppin went to 6-11 overall and 2-1 in league play. Brewer finished 23 assists, 15 kills and 10 digs for her fifth career triple-double and fourth this season. She came into the match third in the nation in triple-doubles. For good measure, Brewer added eight blocks and a .324 hitting percentage. Fellow junior Courteney Pitt led the team with a match-high 19 kills to go along with five digs and a .261 hitting percentage. The 19 kills from Pitt moves her into sixth place in school history with 841 career kills. For the rest of the story:www.ncataggies.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=24500&ATCLID=211813468

Aggies Sweep Florida Trip, Beat FAMU 3-1 NCATAGGIES.COMSUN, OCT 13
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – North Carolina A&T volleyball is on special run. They completed the difficult road sweep of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Florida schools with a 3-1 win over Florida A&M (23-25, 25-20, 25-19, 25-18). The Aggies (8-12, 6-0 MEAC) remain undefeated in conference play as they swept the Florida trip for the first time in 21 years. “The Ladies played very well today,” said N.C. A&T coach Hal Clifton. “Even in the first set, we played well but had some unlucky touches, which FAMU capitalized on. After the first set, we really started to come to life. I thought we passed the ball well, which allowed us to spread the ball around. That kept them off balance, which helped us go on some mini-runs.” N.C. A&T snapped a 20-match losing streak in Tallahassee, which marked the last time the Aggies swept a season series from the Rattlers. The Aggies six-match winning streak is their best since 2005.
