I have the strangest feeling that Newton may just end up at A&T as a graduate transfer for some reason . Just a feeling I could be wrong but on this one I think I'm right on point !

That would be a nightmare for N Dakota State! I think we will be just fine with are without Newton as lone as the O-D lineman play well because that is where that game is going to be won . Don't get me wrong Newton would be a nice addition but he is not the saver that people make him out to be because if the line can not move people to run are protect in the passing game so he can throw Newton will be just another QB To be truthful I would take the new HU QB , The kid from SCSU over Newton . But I'll stick with what we have on campus now . If we get him fine if not fine but as for me if we win that game are not it will all fall on the LINE play on both sides of the ball.

Thinking a little more about it, IF Newton was willing to sit out an extra year per conference rules to play for a conference team, would it be us or FAMU? The way they pass the ball I have to assume he'd be going further south than Greensboro.
That being typed if he's smart he goes to Valdosta State, passes the ball all over creation, and gets his coveted championship and free agent tryout.

if i'm newton, i ain't sitting out another year on top of this year. he's probably chopping at the bit to get back on the football field. if he has to sit 2 years if he transfers to another meac school, i don't see him being willing to do that. and i also don't see him starting on any decent fbs team. the best bet is that he'll wind up following his former coach to w&m...

Clarification - After making a few inquiries, under both NCAA and MEAC rules, Newton would be exempt from the in-conference transfer rule since he would have completed his undergrad course work and received his degree at Howard. Transfer grad students are exempt from that rule.

Nice.
He still wouldn't come to Greensboro.

yeah, just based on his public comments, he appears to still be very loyal to howard but not to the coaching staff. i don't think he wants to play in the meac if that means playing against howard. but heck, i wouldn't mind seeing him in aggie blue and gold...

Do you really think their defensive front is as good as Duke’s?
