A&T clobbers Delaware State in Aggies' MEAC opener By Jeff Mills jeff.mills@greensboro.com Sep 26, 2019 N.C. A&T's Jah-Maine Martin ran for 108 yards and four touchdowns on 14 carries in just three quarters. It's the second-most rushing TDs in a single game in A&T's history, behind Maurice Hicks' six TDs at Morgan State in 2001. Woody Marshall/News & RecordGREENSBORO — On a night like Thursday, in a made-for-TV game shown live on ESPNU, it’s easy to get caught up in the offense. After all, No. 18 N.C. A&T shredded what was — statistically at least — the MEAC’s best defense, clobbering Delaware State 37-0 at BB&T Stadium. Running back Jah-Maine Martin ran for 108 yards and four touchdowns, and he didn’t even play in the fourth quarter. Wide receiver Elijah Bell caught nine passes for 101 yards, tying the school record for career receptions, and he didn’t even play in the fourth quarter. But look deeper. A&T’s defense was flat-out terrific. The Aggies (1-0 MEAC, 3-1 overall) didn’t allow Delaware State (0-2, 1-3) to cross midfield. Not once. Heck, they didn't allow the Hornets closer than 12 yards to midfield. “I wasn’t aware of that,” A&T coach Sam Washington said. “But I said in the meeting room that I really thought we could keep them at bay.” Del State went in averaging 26.7 points and 328.0 yards through its first three games, getting 140.3 rushing yards per game. Not on this night. Not with A&T’s defense as close to full strength as we’ve seen it this season. Just straight up Goons out there. I have NOTHING negative to say about this game at all. It was a complete Aggie domination on both sides of the ball. Everyone played great! Loved seeing Mac back out there!

Speaking of goons, Del State came out defensively with every dirty trick in the book, kinda reminded me of NCCU(a little). I think we’re doing a pretty good job of working out the kinks, I mean they didn’t come in and lay down they just got knocked down.
On another note, it appears that whatever ever happened during orientation is paying off... the student section was there and lively. In the meantime there was no change in the wine and cheese section, but it was a Thursday night.

I think that section is just full of older people

Very pleased with the crowd for a Thursday game. It helped that the weather was spectacular. Everything in AggieLand is looking good.

With 3 home games remaining we should average a little over 16k people for the season. Last night was amazing seeing the student section lively. I believe the ticket specials are helping bring more people out to the game in addition to winning.

OK, so by my amateur football knowledge the counter tre is the best play in our playbook. The last 2 TDS against Charleston Southern were counters.
These 2 TDs last night were on counters, and big shoout out to Dontae Keys for getting down the field...
Will have to look back at all his TD runs to see which ones ones were open counters...

As far as attendance it should increase with the remaining games left but, the way the Buzzards are tanking they may not show like in years' past.

I just wish we had a small press box media outlet on visitors side the optics of filming from press box primarily show the sparse crowd in the visitor section. They panned the home field side a couple of times but most of the games back drop of the visitors sparsely populated section.

I thought Del State had the right defensive game plan. They. They put 6-7 guys up in the block and played man on WR. DSU stopped that little bubble WR and those long passes to the WR. Most of that was due to holding and grabbing the WR. A&T drives were 8 plays and longer so they were hoping A&T would turn the ball over or get penalties.
Martin is a beast.
Finally I am just wondering if the QB are protected in College Football;
Carter got nailed late on a sideline pass to E. Bell Fowler got nailed helmet to helmet on that last pass he threw. I was surprised he got up

the dsu db's literally "mugged" bell before the ball made contact with his hands and the officials didn't call it! it really pissed me off...
