Its an extremely short week with a Thursday night game so everything pregame will be on an accelerated schedule.A&T notebook: Elijah Bell adds to record-setting receiving resumé By Jeff Mills jeff.mills@greensboro.com
GREENSBORO — Quietly and without fanfare, Elijah Bell moved to the top of another all-time list in N.C. A&T’s football record book. Bell, a senior wide receiver for the Aggies, caught five passes for 77 yards in A&T’s 27-21 victory at Charleston Southern last time out to set a school record for career receiving yards. No. 18 A&T (2-1) will host Delaware State (0-1 MEAC, 1-2) in its conference opener at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at BB&T Stadium. The game will be televised on ESPNU. Bell goes in with 2,347 career receiving yards, passing Herbert Harbison (2,301) for the most at A&T. His 26 touchdown receptions also rank first all-time among Aggies. He has 163 career catches, nine behind the program’s leaders Harbison (1983-86) and Wallace Miles (2008-11), who both finished with 172. There are two things I am looking at
1) Jumpball U will get a lot of action with those small DB from DSU plus they like to Blitz a lot.
2) Howard had some good punt returns last week. Don't be surprised if Korey break one big. It about time we get a special team TD.

Double moves and play-action passes should be in full effect on Thursday night.
I would like to see us move Bell around some in our formations (like we did on that that 2pt conversion attempt) and find more ways to get him the ball in space.

A&T offensive tackle Dontae Keys takes on more responsibility this season By Jeff Mills jeff.mills@greensboro.comGREENSBORO — Through three games, N.C. A&T running back Jah-Maine Martin has four touchdowns, three of them on big-play runs of 66, 76 and 84 yards. Those long runs mean a lot to Dontae Keys. Keys, the Aggies’ All-MEAC right tackle, has made key blocks on all three of his running back’s long touchdown runs, each time manhandling the defensive end across the line of scrimmage. “I like to get in somebody’s face and drive him as far as I can, even after the whistle,” Keys says. “… It feels good when you see your running back all the way down the field after you’ve made your block. We did a good job blocking those plays, and I wish we’ll have a lot more plays like that this year.” That’s a strong possibility. As the No. 18 Aggies (2-1) begin conference play against Delaware State (0-1 MEAC, 1-2) on Thursday night, A&T heads into the league portion of its schedule with bookend All-MEAC players on its offensive line. Keys, a redshirt junior from Fayetteville, is the right tackle. Marcus Pettiford, a senior from Durham, is the left tackle and already a two-time All-MEAC first-teamer. The interior linemen, center Daquari Wilson and guards De’Jour Simpson and Lawrence Lagrone, are full-time starters for the first time this season. They’ve taken their lead from the two tackles. Short week: DSU visits defending MEAC champion N.C. A&T Thursday Sep 24th, 2019 · by Tim Mastro DOVER — There isn’t much time for the Delaware State football team to dwell on Saturday’s tough defeat. It only gets tougher from here. The Hornets travel to play defending Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference champion North Carolina A&T this week. To make matters worse, it’s a short turnaround for the Hornets. The game is scheduled for Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. It will be broadcast nationally on ESPNU. Second-year DSU coach Rod Milstead made sure his players were moving on from Saturday’s 24-9 disappointing home loss to Howard. “The game is in the books,” Milstead said. “We can’t change it. We just need to make sure we’re prepared to play Thursday.” DelState will have a different schedule this week to prepare for the Thursday contest. The Hornets practiced Monday — typically their off day. They will instead have Friday as their rest day. Delaware State has opened the season on a Thursday twice in the last three years, but this matchup will be their first Thursday game in the middle of the schedule since a visit to Morgan State on Oct. 25, 2012. North Carolina A&T will have had an extra week of rest compared to DelState’s short week. The Aggies have been idle since defeating Charleston Southern on Sept. 14. North Carolina A&T has won the last five meetings against the Hornets, including a 34-6 result in Dover a year ago. Delaware State last beat the Aggies in 2013. JeffAggieFan Jumpball U will get a lot of action with those small DB from DSU plus they like to Blitz a lot. I would like to see less JUMPBALLS and more PURE ROUTE RUNNING like Bornthrilla said "Double moves and play-action passes should be in full effect on Thursday night". and " I would like to see us move Bell around some in our formations (like we did on that that 2pt conversion attempt) and find more ways to get him the ball in space. More open routes and looks to the TE if they Blitz a lot "

Taco Mama is not a traditional sports bar, but it should be OK for a pregame meeting place.
Location is:
