Just for clarification.....is the band gonna be there or not? If so, I gotta brush out my Barry Manilow and ABBA albums.....cause ain't gonna be no "ethnic halftime" this weekend Wouldn't it be more fitting for gospel music at a church school, which would give it the ethnic flavor needed by fans?

i just watched the 3rd and 4th quarters of the charleston southern vs. south carolina game and now i think i know why coach might think this may be a good game for mac to play in. don't know if they will play against us the same way they played against south carolina, but charleston southern's offense is "pass heavy". meaning they pass the ball twice as much as they run it.
against south carolina, charleston passed the ball 46 times, but only ran the ball 24 times. so if this holds true in our game, that means that our "defensive secondary" will be tested by charleston. if charleston is gonna be passing the ball against us nearly 50 times this weekend, then yeah, this might be a good weekend for mac to get his feet wet.
btw, i like the "white on white" uni's...

Just so we're all in agreement - we're smoking Charleston Southern by 40 points this weekend, right?

Charleston Southern was down 44-3 at halftime vs South Carolina.....they probably were doing a lot of passing in the 2nd half in order to advance down the field and score more quickly..... When they played Furman the week before, they had 26 pass attempts and 39 rush attempts. They lost 46-13 to them. If anything, I'd probably look at the Furman footage to get a better idea of what they'd want to try to do against us. As far as MacCain is concerned, I think he plays this week because he's healthy enough and ready to go. I really don't think it has to do with Charleston Southern. If we had Del St or even Elon scheduled this week, he'd be playing. I think the coaching staff believes he's completely healthy enough to go....

I just read the Charleston Southern OC's bio. He came from laGrange College. Coached under Hal Mumme. I think they gone pass more than they run against us. Especially since it's us.

Namely, take our lost out on them the way Duke took their lost to Alabama out on us. It would be nice to see us beat them 50-0.

I think every team we face from here on out will try to throw it 50 times against us. I know Ryan Stanley can't wait for the chance Oct. 19th.

Man please. Most schools are just going to run their normal game plan. I suspect most will run whether it works or not. Like I been saying, worked for FAMU and Morgan last year...

Well one out of two ain't bad lol.
And Morgan has a new staff so they'll probably be trying to run pro plays and pass two.
Hell you might be bout right. 50 times might be excessive for every team we play (no way Steat or Del State does that) but we might see more pass than run often.

Hopefully, we win by 40 points, but we can't take them lightly. They usually win most of their home games. Believe it or not, our secondary is not that strong. I'm hoping that they have been working hard on coverage this week as well as TACKLING. Their play will also hinge on the play of the front four's ability to put pressure on the passing game and stopping the run.
