I'm sure I was not the only one disappointed yesterday. I know there are protocols to follow but yesterday was outrageous. The band barely played next to nothing while Duke was playing non stop after 1st down plays and timeouts. Then Duke was constantly playing music on the jumbotron and making presentations. I think some or if not all of that was to keep them from playing. The halftime was watered down and why cater to Duke? Just be the B&GMM you always are. You can still be respectful and clean. Then they turn around and play Beyonce and "TRY" to dance with their instruments on the ground. If another pwc invited me I would just turn all of them down if I'm going to be treated like that.

I personally thought they did a good job.
I dont think we "catered" to Duke, there is nothing wrong with "understanding" your audience.
Just like we wouldnt like it if the BGMM played all classical music at Aggie Stadium. I'm pretty sure they try to play music the audience at Aggie stadium would like to hear/recognize which just so happens to be R&B and hip hop.
By the way all the tunes they played were top 40 hits that pretty much everyone should recognize.
Me personally would like to hear that type of show at Aggie Stadium, but that's because I enjoy all types of music.
Most artists get a feel for their potential audience and make song selections for concerts accordingly.

I was feeling that one too. Just like when they played t-shirt vs unc-ch 2 years ago!

The paper gave them a good review.

The halftime show was ok but I thought it could have been better in certain areas. I guess I was really wanting us to be more upbeat.
Another observation. Duke's band sat right in the middle of the north end zone seats. They were small but had a good sound that could be heard throughout the stadium.
I wish our band would do the same and sit in the same position. I sit on the 50 yard line in Aggie Stadium but catch hell trying to see our band in the stands.
They sit on that curve which has a blind spot. I would love to see the entire band performing in the stands but can't.
Also, the band would be heard better sitting at that position.
Just a thought.

I disagree. Most FBS schools do this to away bands, and for our band to not show up to only support our team but to represent our brand is not who we are. If you think we had it bad at Duke look at what happened at Texas when LSU's band came to support:

Dead on point Thrilla. Well said. Right, now all of a sudden the BGMM wasn't keeping it "Black Enough" because we didn't shuck and jive for Watermelon and Popeyes Chicken Sandwichs...

I just saw the video and personally enjoyed the performance. Shows diversity.
I think the University realizes it’s about selling the brand and reaching out to a broader audience. It’s not always about our Aggie base. We know who we are!
