I'm old school. He looked like he handled it pretty well. That was nothing compared to the gauntlet at Scott B by the tree.

It didn't matter if you were male or female , everybody got ragged if you walked through that spot . I remember people would walk down that street in front of Scott , and cut through by Moore gym than walk by the "tree".

Wrong is wrong and I cant' believe any coach or responsible adult would endorse that behavior! College kids will do stupid and inappropriate stuff and adults should correct them when they are wrong (not give some bs excuse about kids being soft).

i don't think anybody is condoning that conduct but its true, being teased is a part of growing up. hail, you think this is bad, he wouldn't have lasted 2 days if he had to ride the school bus that i rode to school every day when i was growing up.
i've been teased and just about everybody i knew growing up has been teased at one time or another. and i've been on both ends. hey, its a part of growing up, not the end of the world...

Being that we see Elijah Bell in the video and participating and Justin Nwachukwu recording is just a tiny bit unnerving, as these two are seniors. Not to mention Bell got NFL aspirations so you really can't have yourself be too involved in anything that can be perceived as negative.
Otherwise, it didn't appear all that bad. Luckily, it didn't turn into a physical altercation. I mean, it's the football team; one of the largest groups on campus and it's full of 17-23-year-old young guys that are full of testosterone. Lets just hope they can keep the shenanigans on and off the field to a min.

We were ALL teased (and probably did some teasing) when we grew up. The major difference now is that it is RECORDED, put on social media, sent to thousands or millions, and lives on in perpetuity and A LOT of kids can't handle that type of pressure. This reality has completely transformed social relationships and how kids interact with each other and it has also changed parenting techniques. It's hard to let something roll off your back when you go viral for getting clowned, or beat up, or whatever.
Having said that, this will be an early test for Washington. I said last year that discipline was a problem for the team. Some stuff you want to nip in the bud, and coach needs to stress that eyes are ALWAYS watching AND recording. Be careful what you do and what you say and carry yourself like a leader....at all times. That's a tough burden to bear for a bunch of 18, 19, 20 year old kids but that's the world we live in.

The only downside to social media...it only shows what you want others to see. Who knows if there were semi apologies "we're just messing with ya man" afterwards or anything else.
If you think that's bad then you should see daycares now. Kids not sharing toys with each other, kids breaking in line to go down the slide. Fast kids out running slower kids to get to the swings.
It's total chaos in the world today lol.

A quick way for Washington to handle this situation is have the entire football team do some type of on-campus community service, like helping freshmen move into their dorms or helping the facilities staff hang banners and signs around the yard.
Put that kind of video on social media to cancel out the negative one. Problem solved.

Well i know first hand his parents are not pleased, the kid is shaken up a bit, and he is nervous about walking around campus now.

IDK, you can't tell if it's the beginning, the end, or how long. But the sheer number that seem to be participating pushes it beyond just teasing and into the intimating realm. This doesn't looks like the old gauntlet of years gone by, they seem to following the guy. The last thing we need on campus is a tit for tat retribution escalation.
