But how many of that 25,000 actually showed up on the first day and had their picture taken? The ones that had the grades to. Typically, of the 20,000+ applicants, we accept about 7,000 and of those between 2,000 and 2,500 choose to enroll. This year was 2,450. You never know how many will actually choose to enroll. That's what creates the housing crunch every year. As more kids decide to actually come to A&T after being accepted, the school will have to adjust, but it is a good problem to have. Each year admissions has to make tougher choices about how many kids to accept. maybe when we send out acceptance letters we should make it clear that campus housing is based on a first come first served basis and to delay confirmation of enrollment could jeopardize their access to campus housing...
