(I’ll let it go after this) But, I wonder if they are all on scholarships🤔 View AttachmentIf A&T was one of only a few HBCUs in the state of Louisiana, it would be like what's in the photo too. Nah, doubt it. Compare it to our enrollment. We are competing with 9 other HBCUs in the state...yet, we still have the largest HBCU.

Just a few years ago (within the last 5) Southern's band was worried they wouldn't have enough money to travel to away games or if they would have even enough money to support their program for the upcoming season. (remember this is the same program that was playing 30 plus year old instruments up until recently) anyway.... Someone wrote up a referendum, Southerns administration allow the students to vote, it passed, and BOOM! funding!!! so yes I'm sure Southern offers a lot of scholarships... But sadly that's not our path.. Without the support of the alumni, and some creative fundraising events by the band stuff or the University, the band will say the same size..

Why can't the band just stay the exact same size that it is right now?
I sure that is good enough for most fans. You band geeks are the only people who want to see 500 musicians on the field at one time. Most fans at a football game just want to see a couple of nice formations and hear some songs that we recognize.

But people need to understand SU is a popular band, scholarship or not just like FAMU of the past. Kids flock to SU even with no scholarship offer. I have heard that out of state students can pay in state tuition under some referendum. Like I said earlier, more kids from 757 and mid-coastal kids are going to SU.
