Family, I have not had a chance to totally check out the New Student Union. But where is the Hall of Fame nowadays? (Online?) (It needed to have bios added to the photos when it was in the old Union.
The thing that put me in the mind of it was another thread that promotes the Great Tenor Player Maceo Parker for an honorary degree. (I think that Alto Saxophonist Jackie McLean, and Lou Donaldson, attended A&T also).
It seems that we have enough history to have many Hall’s of Fame, ie Music, Business, Politics, Science ect. Imo, the youth and their Parents need to see the fruits from this Institution.

At the last Hall of Fame meeting Hilton talked about the possibility of it being on the front side of Moore Gym.

Wasn't there some talk about putting the Hall of Fame in the new stadium renovations? Along with athletic staff offices? We definitely need a permanent upscale place to honor former Hall of fame athletes.

I remember thinking how much I liked how someone did the Aggie Sit-in (canteen), in the old Union, with the pictures ect.
A&T is really no Joke. Every time that I wear my gear, the Elders stop me to chat, and the Youth may mention how good of a school we are , and that they know someone who went here. It’s weird, it puts a pep in my step...

I can tell you now that we may not realize all that we've had. HOF yes. But All-Americans, Championship Teams, Pro's ( remember Al Holland's pic in the old Union? BTW this link says that He no-hit NCCU, striking out 25 batters! relations.ncat.edu/pubs/alumnitimes/2015/apr30/aggies-strikeout-ace.html). What about Golf, Track Cheerleading Champions...smh, not to mention those who made All-Conference. Or Coaches...wow. Didn't the CIAA have Boxing Champs too? I think so.( I remember Moore Gym having a speed-bag ( I believe), upstairs. A Brother named Will' ( I think), used to work out. We may not realize what we have had...since 1891.

I agree 100% that it needs to be placed in a high-traffic area where all students can see it. I clearly remember looking at those pictures on the wall in the old Student Union Building time-and-time-again.
So, to me, the ideal place would be somewhere (back) in the new Student Union Building.
And on a second front, I have always thought that Aggie Athletics needs to establish an Aggie Sports Archives, which would be a place where you can see pictures of our former athletes and teams, old game programs, old boxscores and newspaper articles, pictures of our former facilities, pictures of our former coaches, support staff and ADs, trainers, equipment personnel, cheerleaders and bands.
I've run across pictures of Wilt Chamberlain and Jesse Owens visiting campus and going to basketball games in Moore Gym. These are the kinds of things that honor our past and show our younger generations what Aggie Pride and Aggie Excellence are all about.
And the beauty of it nowadays is that it doesn't have to necessarily be stored and mounted for viewing in a large room. It could be online...added to our athletics website.
Every Aggie athlete wasn't a Hall of Famer (I surely wasn't), but we have hundreds of former athletes who contributed and should be recognized in some way in our own sports archives.
Just a thought...

Just a thought... Great thought. we must tell our own story and always control the narrative without being nasty. Ayantee is no joke. Despite the niggardly funding from the state we have come a long way yet there remains impediments to disrupt our advancement. I am of the mindset that we need to lead the way forward for our culture in the midst of a global Plandamit while effecting the total culture. In a sense it is our historic mandate in these crucial times as they are constantly changing.

In this era of YouTube and cellphone video, we should start now documenting our athletic history and Hall of Fane recipients. Let's start organizing the material now so when they do find a permanent home for it, we will be ready.
