Aggies Announce 2019-20 Recruiting Class
NCATAGGIES.COM THU, JUN 27
EAST GREENSBORO – North Carolina A&T men’s basketball has completed its recruiting class for the 2019-20 season as they try to follow up on their second-place showing in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) from the 2018-19 season. N.C. A&T head coach Jay Joyner announced the addition of six new players to wear the Blue & Gold next season. Brandon Barron (5-foot-10, 145, PG, Atlanta, Alpharetta), Fred Cleveland (5-10, 155, G, Chicago, Ill., Lea Catholic), Tyler Maye(6-2, 170, G, Farmville, N.C., Farmville Central, Southeastern Community College, VCU), Harry Morrice (6-11, C, Scotland, United Kingdom, Beckley Prep), Kwe Parker (6-0, 190, G, 6-0, 181, Fayetteville, N.C., Wesleyan Christian Academy, University of Tennessee) and Shayne Scruggs (6-7, 230, Lansing, Mich., Liberty Heights Athletic Institute) are the newest additions to the Aggies family. “I am always a believer of judging how effective a class is once they start competing,” said Joyner. “I will say we did a good job of filling all of our needs. We should have the perimeter shooting we need to be effective and at the same time, we look forward to having the muscle we need to score inside. If these young men come in and embrace our defensive philosophy, we can be successful.” For the rest of the story:www.ncataggies.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=24500&ATCLID=211806141&_ga=2.57993706.1562400368.1561670983-1863110206.1549128799

Kwe Parker, Tyler Maye to join N.C. A&T basketball program By Brant Wilkerson-New bwilkerson-new@greensboro.com 12 hrs ago Tyler Maye Kwe Parker Coach Jay Joyner and the N.C. A&T basketball program are attracting major talent — high-major talent, in fact. Kwe Parker, a former Wesleyan Christian Academy star who played his freshman season at Tennessee, announced late Wednesday night that he’ll be joining the Aggies to resume his career after sitting out last season. If that wasn’t enough good news, it was also revealed that A&T has also signed Tyler Maye, a point guard from Farmville who spent one season at VCU before playing at Southeastern Community College last season. It’s quite the infusion of talent for the Aggies, who have improved exponentially since going 3-29 overall and 1-15 in the MEAC in Joyner’s first season in 2016-17. Since then, A&T has gone 24-8 in league play and will be expected to contend for the MEAC championship again behind Parker and Maye. Aside from the talent, the other thing I like is that we finally got our scholarship classes staggered evenly.
Seniors (3): Devin Haygood Andre Jackson Ronald Jackson
Juniors (3): Kam Langley Tyler Maye Kwe Parker
Sophomores (3): Webster Filmore Ed Ferguson Ty Lyons
Freshmen (4) Brandon Barron Fred Cleveland Harry Morrice Shayne Scruggs
This keeps the program from having to do such a massive job in recruiting each year. And we've weaned ourselves off of the D1 transfer market as well.
