Where would you project us for the upcoming season?

Eh... we got a ranking. I'm good.
Off the top of my head, we lost 14 starters, including 5 future A&T Hall of Famers and arguably the greatest QB in our history (IMO).
We have a lot of questions to answer against Elon on August 31st. I believe we'll answer the bell.

"The two-time reigning MEAC and Celebration Bowl champs return only eight starters."
I didn't realize we'd lost that much.

Look at the records of those ranked above us (7-24), you mean to tell me that it's acceptable? What about the talent returning, are they not that good? Hmmm...ye have so little faith in our program and respect for the talent.

that's where coach broadway excelled. during his tenure, out of 22 starters we seemingly never lost more than around 6 or 7 starters per season and sometimes even less. seems like he always staggered his recruiting classes in such a way that he never got stuck losing a ton of starters all in one season like we are this year.
now in coach washington's defense, dj leaving early this year didn't help. but even if he'd stayed, we still would've got hit hard this year.
i don't know if it was strategic (though i think it was) or whether it was simply "luck". but coach broadway did a good job of staggering his recruiting classes so as not to get hit by a large amount of starters graduating in the same year...

Hmmm...ye have so little faith in our program and respect for the talent. You forget we lost to a middle of the road program at Home. I believe one other MEAC team won an OOC game. Our conference is weak. And unless we go undefeated, that weakness will be reflected in our ranking

Our conference is weak. And unless we go undefeated, that weakness will be reflected in our ranking We had two great road wins (Jax. St/ECU) and two basically bad home losses (Morgan St./FAMU). Had Morgan beat Albany, BCU beat TnSU and Howard pulled off the Ohio upset, we'd be talking different. I'm thankful for how last year ended, but let's be honest.. we should be talking a 24-game win streak if we were as dominant week-in and week-out as some may think we are. So losing 14 starters... this group has to earn some measure of respect. And it starts with QB Kylil Carter. His play & leadership will determine how far we go. And I like our chances with 10.

This was a little surprising and somewhat disrespectful, given our past. I was expecting to be in the #15-#20 range.
Well, like BLUEHAZE said, this is all more motivation to continue to shock the world.

Everyone has a bad game or sometimes perform poorly, which is what happened to the team. They're being penalized or unfairly assess based on the criteria used for this. Obviously, the ranked teams last were not very good either.

Frankly I stopped worrying about where we're ranked at the beginning of the season. I'm not overly worried about where we're ranked at the end. I'm more worried about lots of wins and few to no losses. I figure if we accomplish that the rest will take care of itself.

personally, i don't place a lot of "emotional value" in the rankings. it is what it is, as far as i'm concerned. all i know is that this year's squad has some big shoes to fill and it ain't gone be easy. we can't sneak up on "nobody" this season, including duke.
so i'm not too worried about the polls. i'm more concerned about the product we'll place on the field this season, we've got a lot of holes to fill. if we take care of elon, "at a minimum" play "respectable" ball against duke, and do what we're supposed to do with the rest of our schedule, then the polls will take care of itself...

If I am not mistaken did we not finish at number 10 last year and beat this year's number 7 rated team plus the big win on the road at ECU. No respect but that's cool because I rather get respect on the playing field than on paper So let not take out our anger on some pencil pusher but on Elon And to be honest I was thinking more about Duke but now Elon is in the center of the 🎯 Can't wait AGGIE PRIDE
