I don't see a problem with as you say " flooding the staff with kids " if it was not for that flooding action A&T would have over looked The Kid . The only problem that I see is when alumnus or fans refer a player . They are looking at the kids athletic Talents but sometimes for-get to include his academic standings when making a referral to the athletic department at the University . Good Athletes with strong Academics are over looked all the time . Some more then not are bypassed just because they play in a lower division . So HBCU's need all eyes on the ground . If you are refering to Tarik "the kid" it was our secondary coach at the time ,now head coach at NCCU, Trei Oliver who found Tarik and told coach Broadway about him .The story goes Broadway wasn't interested ,but coach Oliver kept insisting and Broadway finally went to see him play ,and the rest is history .I for one don't think we should "flood the staff" with our personal favorites ,they have done an exceptional job thus far finding and bringing in the type of players they think will help our team .They have more info and contacts than we do as fans . This is not about ones personal favorites also Coach Oliver was informed about The Kid by an alumni from that area and the rest is as you stated above . Also don't underestimate and make generalizations about the contacts and the ability to gather information on prospective athletes there are some interesting characters posting on this site lol.
