man, we're struggling big time. we're 8-19 so far this season. last year we went 7-37 overall and 19-29-1 the year before that. most of our other sports teams that had losing records prior to hilton taking over have reversed that trend. so what is it gonna take to turn lady aggie softball around? it just doesn't look like we're heading in the right direction...

We're 5-1 in MEAC Southern Division play, which is what matters most.
Getting the Aggie Dome converted to an indoor practice facility for baseball, softball & golf will be a big plus for recruiting & development. For softball...it's about attracting a quality left-handed pitcher.
It takes time & money when you're stretched.

Recruit recruit and recruit better Players from softball heavy areas and States . Like Texas FL . Softball is no different than baseball you can not win without competent Pitchers that is the only thing that separates the winners from the losers . When A&T bring in Good Pithers things will change just like men's Baseball did . Pitching is the key . A&T should check out Vernon CC in Vernon TX . They always have good pitchers in both Softball and men's Baseball .

For softball...it's about attracting a quality left-handed pitcher. It takes time & money when you're stretched. yeah but all 5 of those wins came against the same 2 teams, scsu and ssu. 3 of those wins came over "winless" scsu (if we can't beat them we should throw in the towel) and 2 wins over near winless ssu. scsu is currently "0-29" and ssu is "6-23". so heck, we ought to be 6-0 against those 2 teams. shoot, the way i see it? if volleyball can turn it around, then why can't softball? before hilton arrived, volleyball had a lot further to climb out of the rut than softball did. yet volleyball not only has a winning record, but they also made it to the tournament championship game against howard (but came up short). i'm not looking for miracles out of our softball program, i'm just looking for them to head in the right direction for now. i dunno, maybe they're not adequately funded? hilton just hired the coach in 2013 and 4 seasons later i still don't see any progress. all of the recruits are the new coach's recruits. my homegirl mamie jones (former softball coach) wasn't winning championships, but her last 4 seasons weren't any worse than the current coach's 4 seasons...

I think Hilton gave the coach one more year to right the ship. If she doesn't get it done this year, she'll be outta there.

Exactly it's a know brainer anyone can see A&T has Hitters , in and outfield Gloves , but a weak Pitching Take a cue from the Baseball Team , when there Pitching Improved it looked like everything improved because we already had the other ingredients we just needed the Flour to hold it together

I must admit, I've only attended one softball game and it was exciting. I agree that recruiting better talent is the key but remember that's easier said than done. There's a limited number of talented softball players and the best ones are being heavily recruited. And we're competing with lots of better funded programs.
We need to make sure we have the best softball coach that can not only win games but develop the players. We're going to have to build our own softball stars.

More to come.

See how fast your focus went away from softball to football? Even when we create a thread for softball... football takes over. And that's at the core of why softball struggles. But I digress... It's going to be turfed and probably could be used with football in an inclimate weather situation like the CB/snow. But the focus for the facility is going to be on the sports listed, along with sport science. That part will actually be beneficial to every sport.
