At one time I was told SC State treated all athletes as in state. Don't know if it is done now but if so , dollar comparison will be misleading

Once we stop spending, the decline will begin imo or when certain schools step up their spending

Spending is a big part the other half of that equation is continuing to have competent coaching and direction from athletic department.

I do not like this question, I prefer: How can A&T sustain its success?

Spending is a big part the other half of that equation is continuing to have competent coaching and direction from athletic department. I went back and listened to an interview that our AD had with Spencer Turkin last summer. He was asked to what did he attribute the success of the program. He said two things: (1)Setting standards of performance for each program and holding the programs accountable; and (2) Hiring the right coaches that are technically competent and more importantly fit into the athletics culture we're trying to build. He also talked about the importance of continually improving facilities and the influence that has on today's student-athlete. He mentioned the football stadium, the baseball stadium, Corbett, weight training facilities, dining and dormitories as things to be addressed over the next several years
