Bowling Finishes Seventh At Ladyjack Classic

DALLAS, TEXAS (February 17, 2019) – The 10th-ranked North Carolina A&T bowling team finished the 2019 Stormin Ladyjack Classic in seventh place with a total pinfall of 12,560 over 67 games giving them a 187.5 average for the tournament. The Aggies went 1-1 on the final day.
"Another pretty challenging day for us on the lanes," said N.C. A&T coach Kim Terrell-Kearney. "We are battling some consistency issues, but I am proud of how we continued to fight."
N.C. A&T will fight on its own turf next week. The Aggies will host MEAC meet #2, Feb. 23-24 at AMF Lanes on 910 S. Holden Road in Greensboro.
N.C. A&T started off bracket play during the final day against tournament host and seventh-ranked Stephen F. Austin. The Aggies started well, taking Game 1 by a score of 230-194. During the second game, the scores flipped with the Ladyjacks winning 230-194. Game 3 came down to the 10th-frame with the Aggies winning 215-206. The Aggies lost the next two games 201-166 and 223-168. N.C. A&T won Game 6 to tie the series at 3 apiece. But Game 7 did not go N.C. A&T's way. They were defeated 192-152 to SAFU.
The loss led to the Aggies taking on 13th-ranked Wisconsin Whitewater in the final match of the tournament on Sunday. The Aggies downed the Warhawks 4-1 in the best of seven Bakers format. The Aggies won the first three games with scores of 193-176, 223-178 and 234-179. The Warhawks won the fourth game, 194-181 to stay alive, but that was short lived. In Game 5, N.C. A&T put away the Warhawks 239-175.
