This is why you need a better PR strategy. This thing has snowballed because the university has been radio silent.

This is low hanging fruit. For the thousands of young women who attend our campus, they at bare minimum deserve an immediate statement assuring them that the university takes their concerns seriously. The more that this is allowed to fester the worse it gets. If they have not yet done so, the administration needs to aggressively declare in public:
1. that sexual violence and rape culture will not be tolerated on campus. 2. that the incident that sparked this outcry is being thoroughly investigated and announce when the investigation will conclude 3. that weekly forums will be held with all interested student groups until EVERYONE has had their say 4. and that the university will pledge to LISTEN and RESPOND to their concerns
This should have been done on day one. I would love to see some serious movement on this before the week is out. Our students deserve answers and apparently they aren't satisfied with what they have been getting.

What if counsel advised radio silence?

What if counsel advised radio silence? Sexual assault is a REAL problem in this country and has been since forever. It is very clear that this young lady's testimony about what allegedly happened to her has touched a nerve for numerous women on campus - many of them perhaps past victims of sexual violence themselves. It doesn't take advice from legal counsel to negate our administration's ability to hold forums to listen or to publicly declare to eradicate rape culture from campus. This has now grown much larger than whatever incident happened between the cheerleader and the young man. And for that, our students deserve to hear from our leadership and in turn, our leadership needs to hear from those past victims and concerned parties as well. Apparently whatever forums that they have already held failed miserably in their attempts to address those concerns.....thus the social media outrage.

Statement from our PR team: The key phrase in this statement is "due to privacy laws ,the university cannot make any public statements regarding this matter" . 1. The university has been notified . 2. The campus police has been notified . 3. The GPD has been notified .

They don't have to make public statements on the cheerleader case. But they do need to address a growing concern expressed by women who have stated that they have concerns about sexual assault on campus. They deserve to be publicly reassured that their/our campus is doing all that is necessary to root out and eradicate whatever is making them feel unsafe. And apparently stating that they are "deeply saddened" and take the matter "very seriously" is not going far enough.

This happened/is happening at Morehouse-Spelman and when the news broke, Harold Martin Jr. happened to be serving as the interim president. Note what he said in the article I posted above. I like that approach.

If and investigation is done properly you can not put a time limit of conclusion on it . Remember the DUKE case . I don't care if it takes a year as long as all the facts are in .

I wonder what will happen on February 23 when the basketball teams return to Corbett.
Will the cheerleader squads still be suspended even if the investigation has not been completed?

What assures are given to the Accused if the actuations are found to be False. You can not openly address one with out addressing Both !!!!
