... I am going to sit back and let the powers to be figure this out. Ain't no need for me to be speculating and playing Perry Mason because I don't know all of the facts. Wise advice.

NC A&T criticized for employees' handling of rape allegationGREENSBORO, N.C. — A North Carolina A&T State University student is criticizing the university for how she says employees responded to a rape allegation she made against a fellow student. In a public Facebook post, the student athlete says that she reported the rape to her coaches, but they did not report it as required by the university. She is now calling for those employees to be removed from the university. Greensboro Police Department investigators confirm they are investigating a report of a rape they received back in November at an address near campus. North Carolina A&T State University leaders released the following statement about this incident: “We are deeply saddened to hear of any allegation of sexual assault and take such allegations very seriously. Privacy laws prevent the university from publicly discussing such matters involving current or former students. The university will continue to pursue investigations regarding any claim and provide care and assistance to any victim of an assault in our community, as well as work with authorities to bring perpetrators to justice.” www.wxii12.com/article/nc-aandt-criticized-for-employees-handling-of-rape-allegation/26118140

Guys, I just made an executive decision and removed all of the posts from this thread that were not related to the allegations concerning the response of the A&T cheerleading staff.
There was several posts about a separate campus rape allegation, and I didn't want anybody to get confused about those two incidents.
Moving forward, let's use this thread to have a mature discussion about only the A&T cheerleader incident.

Looks like the cheerleaders will not be performing at today's basketball games:

Doesn't look like this will go away quietly... And it shouldn't. This needs to be fully investigated and a formal report issued. And if somebody dropped the ball, they need to be dealt with according to university policy. This is a serious matter but I'm not going to panic because I fully trust Dr. Martin to handle this efficiently and appropriately. I pity anybody that screwed this up on his watch.

I'm totally confused, If I recall, in her letter she noted that her fellow Blue Squad teammates were problematic when it was initially disclosed to the Coaches... but now they have all "banded together" in Protest and Sisterhood?

They have a Blue Squad and a Gold squad. She intimated in her tweet that half of the cheerleaders were not in her corner at all (at least not initially). Who knows? Until the criminal investigation by GPD is completed, an administrative review conducted, and the university tribunal has their disciplinary hearing(s), it will remain an unresolved mystery.

Yes, it's my understanding that the Gold squad knew nothing of the events that took place, however, they did experience some backlash from the student body. So, that was insult to the injured because they had no clue.

man, this kind of "drama" gives me a headache. i'm just gonna let the process take its course, but i wish they'd hurry up and get this out of the news. too many great things are happening at our university for this to bring the entire ship down...

It sounds like they expect the investigation to be completed by Feb. 23.
That is the date of the next home basketball game and the cheerleaders were only suspended for these past two games.
