Wow...we never swept Florida even in the 80s? Yes, I think a couple times in the 80's.

84-85 and 87-88. But that's been quite a while back. Sadly anything over 20 years old is now considered ancient history.

Correction on the FL road trips. We swept in the following years:
1983-84 1987-88 1993-94 1994-95
All four of those squads won MEAC Championships. And we haven't done it over the past 23 seasons.
The point still remains... sweeping the FL trip will show us a little more about our ability to win a MEAC championship.

A&T Holds Off Rival, Improves to 6-0 NCATAGGIES.COM Sat, Jan 26 DURHAM (January 26, 2019) – It wasn’t the prettiest Aggie-Eagle that has ever been played but they don’t have to be when you’re collecting road wins in conference play. The North Carolina A&T men’s basketball team got another strong performance off the bench from Ronald Jackson and they held N.C. Central to 3-for-22 shooting from 3-point range to come away with a 51-48 win over the Eagles at McDougald-McLendon Arena Saturday evening. It is NCCU's lowest output in the rivalry since 2003 when the Eagles scored 42 points. N.C. A&T remained undefeated in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play at 6-0 and improved to 11-9 overall. It is their best start in conference play since the 1987-88 season. The Aggies have already completed half their road games in the conference already this season and they stand 4-0 in those games. Their seven-game winning streak is the longest since the Aggies won eight straight during the 2008-09 season. .....still amazed by the game last night. When I saw Sylla wasn't starting, then seeing he wasn't even on the bench, I just knew Central was gonna beat us by 15 points. It can't be stated enough how Nweke held down the fort as well as any reserve could in such a heated rivalry game, while the rest of the team just persevered through 40 minutes of angst. It wasn't a pretty game at all, but it was undoubtedly an impressive win. Hopefully, we use this week wisely to get our health better and refocus for the 2nd half of the season.
I knew this team was talented after watching them play UNC-G in November, but they are exceeding all expectations. Joyner (and his staff) are doing the damn thing too - nothing but kudos to them. We've come a loooooooong way in just a short period of time. It's really remarkable.

What happened to Sylla, why didn't he play last night??? Strep throat. No need to expose him to the rest of the squad and get them sick. That could be ugly.

Thanks for the updates on Sylla. I agree there was no need to expose him with a strep throat...

Agree totally . If Sylla was healthy Central would have had no answer for Sylla and Jackson on the floor together. If Cylla played we win that game by 10 or more

I hope that Sylla will be healthy and able to make this Florida Super Bowl Weekend swing...but, of course, his health comes first and foremost. It ain't exactly "warm sunshine and blue skies" down here at the moment, either.

Levelle didn't mention Nelson Nweke... likely because he didn't want to admit that L happened with Ib Sylla out. That typed... I expect a good game in March.
