i'm surprised that ssu knocked off morgan state. i'm thinking about going to our game at dsu this weekend, dover is only an hour and 45 minute drive from my house. we should have a fairly decent chance of beating dsu in dover, so it could be worth my drive even though "trump" is still withholding my paycheck...

.....yo OSA, didn't know you were affected by the shutdown; sorry to hear that man. I know I'm gonna hear some straight up bull from the prez tonight on TV. Hang in there. I got a great friend going through the exact same thing. I don't wish this unnecessary foolishness on anybody....
....back to the topic at hand - I remain cautiously optimistic about this team. If we can start off the regular season 2-0, with both wins being on the road, that would be a very optimistic harbinger for things to come. Check the standings; AFTER JUST ONE WEEK of play, 8 teams in the conference are either 1-1 or winless. If we win Saturday, that keeps us in the upper echelon of the standings.
Broadway used to say all wins are good wins. There just hasn't been a great disparity from top to bottom in MEAC basketball as there has been in MEAC football.....so when we get W's on the road - THAT'S HUGE!!!

OSA...thought about you the other day and have another very good friend experieincing the same thing, fortunately she saved over the years but she is OK On subject, but what is your thoughts about tax refunds being paid on schedule as #45 claims? Those non payments might be the tipping point to ending the whole shutdown mess....

On subject, but what is your thoughts about tax refunds being paid on schedule as #45 claims? Those non payments might be the tipping point to ending the whole shutdown mess.... don't mean to highjack this thread but i don't see how "trump" can force tax refunds to be sent out on time when only about 15 to 20% of the irs is actually working without pay (myself included). working without pay "lowers" employee morale, we're less inclined to work at our best because we're pissed about not getting paid. same for tsa, air traffic control personnel, or "any" federal worker who's working without pay. we'll see, but unless the gov't (the irs in particular) is fully reopened soon, i don't see tax refunds being sent out on time...

LOL Coach Joyner worked on deploying the press and ball movement. It was a good scrimmage run. Dre Johnson got going a bit as a baseline finisher tonight and hit 2-3 from 3-pt range... 14 pts total. Dre is now shooting 50% from the field (40% from 3-pt range). He and freshman Ty Lyons (8 pts) are major wildcards off the bench to us doing work in the MEAC this year. A road sweep this weekend would be real nice.

We have a good 9 man rotation. Hopefully, the bench players will be able to finish around the basket.

Definitely going to Dover this weekend Me, too (as long as the forecast for snow stays at Saturday night). yeah, the snow predictions kicked me back into 50/50 land as far as going to dover goes. they're calling for snow showers here in the dmv on saturday expecting 1 or more inches of accumulation. i have 4 wheel drive but i suspect that snow in dover might be worse. so i'm just gonna keep an eye on the weather predictions and make a final decision by friday...
