... from a fan's perspective?
What can event organizers do to make it an even better experience in 2019?

Drop the prices and increase the advertisements.
Side note, I was at my son's indoor lacrosse game Wednesday nite in an Ayantee shirt. One of the other parents said he'd caught some of the bowl game with us playing and asked if we'd won. I told him yes and he said it looked like a close one. I told him they ran all over us but we usually didn't give up many yards on the ground, including under 75 to ECU. He was certain we'd still lost to ECU but I informed him we'd won the game.
Homey looked like he could've passed out. He repeated several times "that's a major squad. Your team beat them? Wow. Wow." He was genuinely shocked to the point I'm sure he googled it as soon as he got home.
That exposure is sweet.
But back to the bowl, drop the prices and advertise the damn thing. Since it's an hbcu event give free tix to inner-city kids with good grades or something and sell tix at half price to anybody accompanying them. You'll still make money in the end, plus you'll spread goodwill. You'll increase the eduction about hbcus and the exposure to college-educated hbcu alums to those who might not otherwise get that exposure. Plus you'll create a better atmosphere inside the stadium.

Yeah, the price point is still an obstacle. I paid $214 for 4 tickets on the lower level. This is not bad for a NFL stadium, but still way too high for the locals. If they open us the upper decks they might be able to offer some hood-friendly tickets in the nose bleeds.
BTW: the concession inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium were amazingly cheap. Plus they had free refills on all the sodas.

There were also $15 and $25 tickets available in the endzone. You can't get any cheaper that that.

But you had to add $20 in fees to every ticket. Those $15 tickets ended up being $35.

The surcharge on every ticket is an issue but so is the darn "cell phone ticket" idea. Now before you roll your eyes at me, hear me out. I believe the cell phone ticket frightens some of our older alums away. Remember: old Aggies buy tickets too! Most senior alumni don't make purchases using their cell phones so they are not comfortable using this process with an expensive bowl game. And the process for getting the cellphone tickets is a joke. You pay for them the A&T ticket office, then someone else contacts you by email, then you download an app onto your phone, then you have access to your ticket. I actually spent 30 minutes on the phone with an alumni friend trying to walk him through the process. That's after I had been on hold with the Mercedes Benz Stadium helpdesk for 30 minutes without speaking to a live person. The worst part, when he got to Atlanta he couldn't pull the tickets up on his phone. So he spent 30 minutes before the game standing in line hoping the stadium staff could help him. He eventually got in.
I think this issue will disappear the more often we go to the Celebration Bowl but for now it's an issue.
P.S. I imagine that buying from Ticket Masters is less hassle but I wanted A&T to get as much of my money as possible.

Yeah, when I went to pick up my media credentials I saw an old head struggling to pull up his cell phone ticket.
The women at the ticket booth had to come outside and help him pull it up on his phone. Brother was totally overwhelmed by the technology.

Actually, the ticket comes to the buyer from ticket master via Mercedes Benz. Many, many "old folks" had bar codes on their cell phones. Meaning that they are capable of using recent technology. They just don't want to be bothered. There were other vendors selling tickets, at the same price or higher.

The process if you go through ticket master is the same , once you get used to the concept it's a breeze . The celebration bowl last year was the first time I used the E-ticket and I was a little skeptical but didn't have any problem . I used the process at the Greensboro coliseum several times and a local venue here in Greensboro since then ,it's a sign of the times . P.S. Your friend probably has problems even sending text messages too ,LOL . Technology ain't for everybody .

Imo, everything is about as good as it's going to get. I will say that the SWAC needs to get rid of their championship game because their folks aren't showing up in huge numbers.

I would like for them to move the time. 12 is too early to make a game and create any kind of atmosphere. I got there at 12 and half the people were still not in the stadium. I could care less about being the first game our viewership outweighs all early bowls with better time slots. We should be able to negotiate a better time.
I have long said that I think this should be a HBCU celebration weekend. They could do battle of the bands this weekend along with an HBCU basketball tournament (small) with D2 schools and our schools.
If we make it more than football and about culture now you are talking an HBCU event. One that can draw celebrities to attend.
I would love for the swac to get rid of their championship game butI am not sure that's the problem seemingly alcorn played at home and they didn't really have to travel for their championship game. I think it's lack of culture. It's too ESPNish... Because we've been so many times we kind of know how to make it a black event but it's not really a black event.

They should move the game time to 3 or 4.It would have more buzz maybe have a All Star MEAC vs SWAC Game at 12...

So maybe try to host a HBCU-type Senior Bowl and then let them play in Mercedes-Benz Stadium that morning prior to the CB? If you can find the money to transport and house all the participating players, this might be an attractive option.
