I really want to see the Athletics Master Plan that the university wants to come up with. Ive BEEN saying that we need an indoor facility (and not that glorified shed that Tennessee State Has. We need a real indoor facility that can support Football and even Indoor Track. I would go so far as to create office space for the olympic sports coaches and staff to get our money's worth. Let BB&T Stadium and the indoor facility become the hub for Athletics.

I agree. Indoor track would benefit and could be used to recuit for high schoolers. Also HS teams could use going to state championships

its all about "funds". wishing and hoping are all well and good, but that doesn't build a multi-million dollar indoor practice facility. we've currently got a $20 million aggie stadium upgrade on the books that we're fundraising for. hard to imagine a&t being able to raise enough funds to finance an indoor facility on top of that...

Our funds would be better served by fully endowing scholarships for our teams. It's not as sexy, but fully funding scholarships will pay more dividends for the long term health of our programs than an indoor practice facility.

We really need to partner with Greensboro if we want a facility that is capable of hosting indoor track meets and football practices. Have any of you guys even been in one that does? I have, thats a HUGE facility. I been in indoor tracks with minimal seating and ones with lots of seating. Both types are huge. We laughed at the "Glorified Shed" comments, but its a gloried shed because adding football size and height to an indoor track facility with seating would be REALLY expensive. To tell you the truth if we build one that houses both it NEEDS to be a glorified shed because anything else would straight up bust our budget.
So find a way to partner with Greensboro. We already host National track meets, so convincing them that track is big enough to partner with A&T on an indoor facility for football and track may not be as hard as you think. Thats how North and South Dakota got their domes. And we dont need a full dome. Just half of one. When pitching this to Greensboro though it has to be a mixed use facility of some sort. Football practice and indoor track cant be the options.

Football practice and indoor track cant be the options. North and South Dakota is a fair example but not a good one . North and South Dakota have Full backing from the cities that they are located in and they also have the backing from the state and the Gas , Oil and Power cooperations located near regions. And that doesn't include there support from Alumni and deep pocket donors . With that being said , I can see and indoor track facility because it could pay for it's self over time with the proper management . But indoor track has to be promoted and marked properly . But just and indoor football facility with out that Financial backing that North & South Dakota has A&T will be just throwing money away for just a few days/ weeks use in a season . Now correct me if I'm wrong Dallas had and inflatable indoor practice facility at one time and it worked great but something caused it to implode but those types of facilities just came a long way in their Construction it may be possible to invest in one of those for both Indoor Track and Football .
