I called Howard beating FAMU and folks doubted it, was shocked about SCSU beating FAMU, and I think the Florida classic can go over either way. But I have noted Cookman has won all the games it was supposed to win and the Rattlers are loud and have the pressure, while Cookman is quiet.

You don’t live in Florida...Cookman most certainly is not quiet...at all They just don’t get media coverage that we get any FAMU

The last prediction I made on this particular forum was FAMU over A&T...and well...lol We’re fine...Howard was gonna be a tough one on the road and SCSU was a clear cut case of knowing the game didn’t count and looking ahead to the Classic Also, we played with some starters on the bench against SCSU...and pulled some players as soon as the got slightly banged up. Chad Hunter, Azende Rey, Elijah Richardson, Bishop Bonnett...along with a few others, either sat out or exited the game with a slight injury in the first half. We played a few new guys like David Manigo, George Webb and Ferante Cowart...who are all freshmen.

I respect your attempt to rationalize it, but SCSU was up double-digits for pretty much the entire game, regardless of when guys exited. These are 18-23 year-old kids, not robots. Psychology matters, and losing 2 games in a row that you're supposed to win (one of which would have clinched a championship) heading into a rivalry game is a tough mental hurdle to overcome, especially if BCU happens to strike early. It's much tougher being the hunted than being the hunter. We'll see what everyone is made of on Saturday.

They are laser focused on BCU right now. If we do happen to lose, however, the future for FAMU football is bright.

If they were laser-focused on Howard given what was at stake, we wouldn't be having this conversation right now. That's college football, though. Heavy is the head who wears the crown.... or attempts to. Jacksonville St. just benefited from that in the OVC. We'll see on Saturday.

Either way it goes tomorrow will be entertaining. Seems like FAMU had three games circled on the calendar: Us, the chickens, and Cookman. But true rivalry games can go either way.

We still like the trajectory of our program right now...tough loss...but all things considered this season was a positive one. First winning season in 6 years and we have some positive things happening for the program. We were a game away from winning the conference in Simmons’ first year as the head coach...and we bring back a solid batch of talent next season.

Honestly, that collapse over the past 3 weeks could be difficult to come recover from for the Rattlers.
I mean in tennis/volleyball terms that had 2 set points to win the MEAC title and had a monumental falter culminating with the epic pick-6 going in for potential game tying score.
All that being typed, thanks BCU.
