I have no problem with playing with fire, ON THE FIELD. We have to be smart and let central act like fools and take themselves out. There is a way to play extra physical within the guidelines of the game. Throwing gas on their hate for us will only amp them up when they don't need it.

My complaint with Broadway was we didn't win the game. My complaint last year was seeing the two teams bunched up pre-game like a bunch of ignant niccas. Personally I'd like to see us win and be the adults in the room, but the two seem to be incompatible. It's hard, bro. And the real issue... they're 18-23 year olds. So they're just barely adults. It really is amazing what we put on the shoulders of our student-athletes when you step back and think about it.

Well, don't put them in front of a mic. One less thing off their plate.
I see no positive way to spin this one other than I hope the kid learns anything you say can and will be used against you.

The irony of that one... Hardy is a senior criminal justice major. He's going to be a pretty imposing investigator or state trooper one day. But being a Philly guy and someone who has probably seen tape of NCCU this year already after playing in the rivalry last year... you have to know something when you're willing to let it fly like that. And TBH... Coach Sam's comments were just as bad.

Which makes them both in need of some common sense.
I don't see the humor.

NC A&T player calls NC Central 'dirty' ahead of Saturday match upBy Mark Armstrong Tuesday, November 13, 2018 07:53PM When the Eagles and Aggies get together, it usually gets heated. That figures to be the case this Saturday in Durham as Central hosts A&T in their regular season finale. There is no title at stake for NCCU, but they can play wrecking ball with the Aggies MEAC Championship hopes. Before most rivalry games, coaches and players go out of their way to avoid inflammatory statements or anything that can be used against them in the opposing locker room. But for A&T, it was a different story. Offensive lineman Maquel Hardy told the media on Tuesday that N.C. Central is "dirty" and that the Aggies challenge was to "not stoop down to their level."Article Link That is what he said to the media . Heaven knows what he said on Twitter on Facebook on some of the social media site .

A&T's football team stated the season as one of the least penalized teams not only in the MEAC but in all of FCS football. This is a myth. A&T has always been a highly penalized team, even under Broadway. Last year A&T, ranked 3rd in penalties in the MEAC, averaging 65.3 penalty yards a game. This year A&T ranks 5th in the conference, averaging 77.4 yards per game. That is the equivalent of just one more holding call. static.meacsports.com/custompages/stats/football/2017/confldrs.htm#conf.wi2static.meacsports.com/custompages/stats/football/2018/confldrs.htm#conf.wi2Overall, A&T had a total of 89 penalties last year, and so far this season we have racked up 91 penalties. Again, not that great of difference. Hell, I remember our former safety Isaiah Martin got kicked out of the NCCU game for fighting ... two years in a row. That was all under the Broadway. interesting stats. but how does our "personal foul" penalties this year compare to last year? that's what i'd like to know, its the "personal foul" penalties that concern me the most. i'd be very surprised if we had just as many each year over the last 3 or 4 seasons as we've had this year. every time we're flagged for a "personal foul" penalty, its an "automatic first down" plus 15 yards for our opponents which keeps drives alive for our opponent. heck, the buzzards never would've scored a td last year had it not been for 3 or 4 "consecutive" penalties against us which moved them all the way down the field into the redzone...

Allow me to put a slightly different perspective on it.
This team should be in the middle of an unprecedented, incredible 22 game win streak right now. But for two losses by a total of five points, it would be. If it hadn't committed a few ill-timed, drive-sustaining penalties, it would be.
This is not a dominating team by any means which means it has to be a SMART, FOCUSED team. The margin for error is slim. You can think the opposition plays dirty and that you can't stoop to their level, you just don't say it to the media the week of the game.

I actually love it. the game was boring when were guaranteed to win and blowing them out every year without fail. Talk that trash.
NCCU will come in way overhyped like they always do regardless of whats said in the news. We just have to stop with the 15 yard defensive personal fouls. I'm just not sure how an offensive player can even get you that damn mad. Your doing the hitting, not them.
I remember we beat them in Broadways first year at their house and we just came in and played solid football and didn't bite on all the trash talk and penalties. It was a straight boring A&T win like we used to do. Thats all we need to do to win this game. Play solid football and dont get caught up in the trash talk. Someone needs to have a real heart to heart with our defense about that. The sack and tackle for loss celebrations need to stop. Celebrate when the game is on lock..

Intercollegiate athletics is entertainment first and foremost. I dont mind a little bit of wrasslin antics with my football. I don't get the people who act like football is sacrosanct or some deeper metaphor for life. It's a childrens game. Comments like these make the rivalry a little bit spicier. I'm here for it!

Meh.
Let the kids be kids. Let the adults win championships.
I'm trying to picture a player from NDSU or JMU or EWU or another traditional power make a similar statement.
The first round dropouts usually do the talkin'. Especially at this level.
Furthermore anything that happens on a field with two hbcus is going to get plenty of overblown negative publicity. Somebody tell me why we need that again.

The problem I see is this " every action causes a reaction Negative or Positive " . The question that worries me is will A&T's Players take the POSITIVE side of this equation and not fall prey to the negative actions of centrals team , 18 to 23 year olds are mostly pron to Negative impulses at any given moment . This goes back to something that my father would always tell me " The one in the room that's doing all the Talking is not the one to keep your eyes on . It is the quiet ones that should be your focus because they have control and know what they have to do " . Which one will A&T be this weekend . Quiet and deadly or loud and boastful .

And the way I've seen us jaw in games that did not have as much implications as they do this week, I am very worried. I'm telling you, I've seen it every game where we make one play and we have to either get in the opponents face, or have to complain to refs when we don't get a call. The leash is very long with this team this year, and I don't see it changing soon.
