McDaniels has been by far the most consistent wide receiver this spring. He is faster than Bell and more physical than Hunt.
It is gonna be pretty hard to get Jordan McDaniels out of the rotation this season.

I'll take your word for it since you are there and I am not. If Edwards has the "head" for a redshirt and understands it's probably what is best for him if he doesnt flat out beat someone out then it's a good move. Hunt and Bell will be seniors and he would definitely fill their roles after they are gone.

if dude can "justify" being on the field, then he'll be on the field. our coaches are pretty good at determining which "true freshmen" deserves quality playing time during their true freshman year. both cohen and cartwright played as "true freshmen", and justifiably so. kylil also had his redshirt "burned" as a true freshman late in the season, justifiably so. so i'm not worried about a true freshman who deserves quality playing time not getting it, cuz our coaches have proven that they're willing to play true freshmen if they deserve it. however, me personally, i'm still not convinced that "any" true freshman deserves quality playing time unless they prove it on the football field first. so what the kid demonstrates excellent hands in "non-contact" drills? let's see how excellent they are when he gets "popped" a few times by an fcs quality lb or safety. "non-contact" drills only prove "skills", but they don't prove the ability to take a hit! remember how "excellent" our field goal kicker looked in "non-contact" drills? welp, he didn't looked so excellent when they started firing real bullets at his azz his freshman year. edwards had better put on some muscle cuz right now he's no bigger than raynard was as a true freshman and gawd knows i "braced myself" every single time raynard got hit no less as a "redshirt freshman", much less a true freshman. in my book, i haven't seen too many high school seniors on film who at our level who is as thin edward who can take the "punishment" of fcs level lb's and safeties. but he'll have an opportunity to prove himself this summer. i remember last year folk went crazy about one of our small freshman receiver recruits (whose name escapes me right now). and no sooner he stepped on the practice field, folks were saying he's "soft". so let's just wait until this summer, edwards most definitely will have an opportunity to prove himself... Oleschoool...I understand your point. But, why would you send him across the middle in the slot...? In my opinion, that wouldn't be smart, not only that he skill-set isn't in the slot its on the outside. I mean he could get hit on the outside too but, not like a blindsided across the middle hit. And if he is good as I think he is...he is gonna command a double-team. A defense will always have to keep a safety over the top of him. With that being said, that will single up Leslie and/or Bell...that's win-win no matter how you look at it. The playbook should be simple, if the safety isn't over the top of Edwards, go deep every time. If it is, then you got single coverage for Bell and Leslie. See the 1998 Minnesota Vikings, Randy Moss' rookie season. He wasn't running routes in the middle of the field where he could get crushed by a safety or linebacker.

I dont think people fully understand how talented and deep this year's wide receiver corps is.
It is not just Leslie, Bell and a collection of misfits. There are legitimate game changers all over the field right now.
I haven't even mentioned the new kid wearing No. 2 who has been getting first team reps in the slot. I dont know his name but someone said he might be a transfer from the Univ. of South Carolina.

See the 1998 Minnesota Vikings, Randy Moss' rookie season. He wasn't running routes in the middle of the field where he could get crushed by a safety or linebacker. hey, i just watched his senior year highlights and though his highlights are indeed impressive, i still don't see "immediate impact" written all over this dude. and i most definitely didn't see "randy moss" like speed on his video. i think the kid is really gonna be a very good one for us "in due time", but i don't see the "can't keep him off the field" as a true freshman attributes that ya'll see. i think some of ya'll are over reacting because temple tried to sign him. but to me, his biggest attributes that i saw on his video were his "height" and he appears to have very good "hands". he has very good speed, but not "blazing" immediate impact speed like randy moss as some of ya'll have alleged. he deserves "hype", but not "all world hype" like some of ya'll are giving him. provided bell and leslie stay healthy, i don't see this guy leapfrogging over bah if bah is 100% healthy by training camp, i just don't. as i recall, bah's highlight video is every bit as impressive as edwards is and i wouldn't be surprised if bah actually has a step on edwards in terms of "speed". checkout the link below to see his senior year highlights. impressive? absolutely. "all world" can't keep off the field as a true freshman impressive? absolutely not... Prestige Edwards Senior Year Highlights

There are other concerns, especially coming to Ayantee.
We run the ball. HOW WELL DOES HE BLOCK? If he can't block he ain't seeing the field at all.
We also need our qbs to be able to establish a rapport with all our receivers. The ones that block, catch, and know how to get open are the ones that'll see the field most.

I only used Randy Moss' name to show the mismatches that can be created by a skill-set. It's a game of match-ups when you doubled Randy Moss, Chris Carter burnt his man to a crisp. So, if we can create an advantage on the outside, I believe that will allow Leslie, Bell to burn their men to a crispy type of texture. And if Bah is as good as you say he is, we should be already doing that with him but, I didn't hardly see him on the field last year.

He was a highly recruited receiver coming out of high school and they moved him to DB at South Carolina.

from ncataggies.com; WR Korey Banks, University of South Carolina, 5-11, 190, Tyrone, Ga. Banks is already enrolled at N.C. A&T … Played wide receiver for the Gamecocks in 2016 before switching to cornerback in 2017 … Rivals ranked him as the 65thbest player in Georgia during his prep career … 247 ranked him as the 59th-best player in Georgia and the 112th-best player in the country … The three-star athlete earned All-State honors as a wide receiver after catching 61 passes for 813 yards and six touchdowns his senior season at Sandy Creek High School.

to me, cameron hutchinson the running back from havelock is the "true freshman" on offense i'm most excited about. now he has "immediate impact can't keep off the field" as a true freshman talent, imo. he already has d1 fcs caliber "size" at 5-11, 210lbs. he's ready to take fcs level contact "immediately" without having to add weight or additional muscle, though i'm sure he'll increase his strength at this level.....

Yeah, that's gotta be him. Banks, Pride and Baldwin are locked in a 3-man battle for that starting slot job.

hey, the university of south carolina has been very good to our program in recent years. if he's as good as the talent they've sent us in the past, then we've got ourselves a good one!
