We picked up a commitment from 6-8, 237 lb post Mobolaji Adesoga from Nigeria via Alabama and the Carolina Basketball Academy
He's not going to wow anyone above the rim, which is probably why he wasn't widely recruited. But he has solid hands, good post footwork (actually sets his base on his post-ups) and a physicality we currently don't have on our roster.
More to come.
With that body he could be an awesome offensive tackle for our football team. Plus he'd definitely get a look for the next level. Just saying...

His skillset and footwork definitely fit... with an extra 50 lbs. But there are a lot of football players whose preference is basketball. And with the emphasis on concussions, a lot of folks are sticking with hoops, especially coming from overseas.
And we certainly need his skillset in hoops. No question.

Mobolaji Adesoga – Nike Elite Stars Energy is something that coaches want in any player but after a long weekend of games, it can be hard to find at an AAU showcase; this was not the case with Adesoga. He is a 6’8” 270lb wrecking ball on the low block and is another forward that is comfortable taking and making outside shots consistently. He held down the paint for rebounds and has very good feet to move up and down the floor as well as defend. He kept the Nike Elite Stars engaged in their game Sunday afternoon, starting defensive chants when getting back on defense and from the bench during the time he was out of the contest. He posted double-doubles in two games I saw him play at the Sweet 16 tournament and that contagious energy cannot go unnoticed. He is a proven winner, fresh off a state championship with Carver-Montgomery (AL), and holds offers from Highland Community College and Gadsden State.

That's a TE's body right there . A guy with foot work and hands , he would be a better fit at TE .
