Analysis: Back-to-basics scoring drive may well have saved A&T's season By Jeff Mills Greensboro News-Record Sports jeff.mills@greensboro.com September 28, 2018 @ 3:46 AM
GREENSBORO — When the game went sour — when A&T couldn’t field a punt, couldn’t get a first down, couldn’t hang onto the football — the Aggies’ sideline became a place of drama.
Helmetless teammates began jawing with one another as the deficit grew to 16-3 in the second quarter and tempers flared. Some of those teammates had to be separated by coaches or other players with cooler heads.
It was not a good look for the No. 12/13 Aggies. Another winless team had them on the ropes.
“That’s frustration. It was all based on frustration,” first year head coach Sam Washington said. “Kids let off energy in different ways. Not just kids, but people. We probably yelled at them when we possibly shouldn’t have. But that frustration sets in, and it happens. …
“And it wasn’t just the team. It was the coaching staff, myself included. It was all of us..."

to me, scsu looked "gawd awful" in the 2nd half. i mean, in the 2nd half looked to me that scsu couldn't get out of their own way! their qb (as far as passing goes) was down right "putrid"!
i don't know if we made scsu look that bad or whether scsu is just simply that "gawd awful". they kept shooting themselves in the foot making it easy for us to take advantage of their mistakes.
i think for us, cartwright turned the team around in the 2nd half. he was a down right "beast" in the 2nd half and his performance "sparked" the entire team. shoot, and we desperately needed that spark...

btw, stay with the gray uni's!! or atleast some combination of the gray uni's. we looked extremely "flat" wearing all blue last week. so let's stay with the gray, we seem to play better in the gray...

Cartrwight was sick. Remember that third and long reception where he carried half of Urngeburg on his back and still got the first down? We ain't score on that drive but you could tell the fire was back.

cartwright was a flatout "monster" last night! to me, he's the reason we turned the momentum around. his "bruising" hardnosed running early in the 2nd half "sparked" the team in my opinion. the o-line started blowing guys off the line of scrimmage! even martin and graves got in on the action...

I didn’t see too much of the game, but it was good to hear we went up tempo. Even in our wins, I thought we were giving defenses too much time to get comfortable.
Raynard is a veteran, give him the reigns. Against Morgan, I thought he looked very mechanical.

in hindsight, it probably helped us that we had a thursday night game this week cuz it gave us an opportunity to get that "bitter taste" of losing to msu out of our mouths much sooner. didn't have to wait 2 more days.
and lawd, good thing we didn't have a "bye week" following the msu game cuz then that crap would've lingered in our minds for 2 doggone weeks! but now that we've got that scsu win under our belts along with the fact that the msu game doesn't count as a conference game, that loss doesn't sting as much anymore.
all it cost us was an end to our winning streak and a drop in the rankings. other than that, life goes on as usual. we still have as good a chance to win the meac championship as we did before we loss to msu...
