The contact and background info was given to Coach Washington some weeks ago at the Greensboro AAF meeting right after bowl game. Let them do what they do.

At some point we need to starting winning a few of these battles for legitimate 3 star recruits. I know the reality of our limited resources and the perceptions of being an HBCU, but what's the point of earning all these Celebration Bowl trophies and getting national TV exposure if we can't translate that into some major victories on the recruiting trail? Our coaches have proven they can identify diamonds in the rough and develop talent. Now they need to show that they can also sell this program to bigtime recruits. BTW: This kid Brandon Marshall is a perfect example of a 3-star recruit who we should be able to sign. 247sports.com/player/brandon-marshall-46051381/He has a handful of offers including North Dakota State, Charleston Southern and Charlotte. If our coaches want to prove themselves as being above average recruiters (and not just talent identifiers and developers) then they need to be able to win these kind of battles. It's one thing to have to settle for kids that nobody else wants when you are 0-27 and have major APR issues. But when you are 3X Celebration Bowl champs, you need to be able to start getting phone numbers from the prettiest girls at the dance. Gotta upgrade our level of expectations now.

It all starts with getting the kid on campus. If we can clear that hurdle the chance of signing a guy like this goes up. Unfortunately you have alot kids whose parents did not attend college and see us as just another HBCU so in turn they direct the kid to what sounds like the biggest opportunity. Thrilla You are correct in this case 2 major FCS offers (A&T and NDS) and a small tier FBS. If we can get this kid on campus I think we win.
It becomes really hard when a recruit has or the parent wants them to have an ACC offer. It really chaps my hide when I hear folks say they are a Duke, Tar Heel, etc fan when they did not attend college and could not tell you one thing about their favorite teams academic profile. The Duke and Carolina people irritate me more than others as they act like the school evolved from the basketball team!

That site says he already has an official offer from us. That tells me he probably already has been on campus and spoke with out staff in-depth.
We now need to be able to close the deal. A good recruiter should be able to convince a kid like this to sign with us.
We are not competing against Clemson, Alabama or even UNC for his services. This should be in our wheelhouse.

Official offer doesn’t necessarily mean he has visited.

I think with certain recruits we should have Cohen, Parker or McRae seal the Deal for us..

That is a really good idea. If we could coordinate a good # of recruits coming in on the same day and have the pros speak about their academic, football, and social experience on campus would be strong.

Wish every 3-5 star recruit in America could see that
