To think that the coaches don’t know about the kids at Dudley is an interesting theory, especially since we have four Dudley alums on the current roster🤷🏾♂️ Who said they dont know about the kids at Dudley?

If you cant convince a kid like that to come to A&T over Gardner-freaking-Webb then you can not look in the mirror and call yourself a good recruiter. I dont care if his momma is on the board of trustees at GW; a good recruiter is gonna convince him to come to A&T 10 times out of 10. Granted, I'm not talking about coaching. I am just talking about recruiting. It's like going to a gym jam and you and five other dudes have your eyes on the same pretty girl. If you are a good recruiter you are the one who's getting her number. You either got game or you don't. In the past, A&T was the broke, wack and corny dude at the party and we just had to scoop up all the ugly ducklings that nobody else wanted ... and then try to perform an extreme makeover on them. But now that we're rocking a clean shirt and got a fresh edge-up, we need to be getting some of the pretty girls. Easier said than done, my friend!

From my perspective, when can we begin to see the fruits from the Celebration Bowl tree...? We should be able to reap the benefit of the success...PERIOD! Especially if your competition is Gardner-Webb, a program we've thumped on the past 2 seasons on our way to the CB. At least, in my mind that's how its supposed to work. If we still cannot out recruit Savannah, Norfolk, SCSU and DSU on some level then, what gives?

Perhaps, just perhaps more factors are in play than the CB when it comes to landing new recruits.

Perhaps...but, when all things are equal, we can recruit the likes of Tarik Cohen, Brandon Parker, The Keyes Brothers and many others. Now, I'm merely suggesting that we are in a better position now than we were then and we are no more of a favorable option for recruits to choose?

We've won two Celebration Bowls since the first one, what makes you believe that we're not already seeing fruits of our participation? Some of you do this every year around this time, speculate, only because of what you don't know or have not seen. Why? You're not going to get every local kid, it's just not realistic to believe.

Its not about what local kids we get, per se. It's more about who are we losing those local kids to.
If we are losing recruits to Big State U, I can understand that. But if we are losing recruits to Scrub Tech, then I am gonna raise an eyebrow or two.
There's a reason why they keep score in sports - to let you know how you are doing against the competition.
On the recruiting trail, we need to be dominating the competition.

Could be a soft kid who doesn't want to battle for playing time? Who knows. How many other recruits have we loss to Gardner Webb, Elon, or the other FCS schools that we actually made an offer too?

Maybe Coach is coming too but that wouldn’t be announced until the spring.

Why wouldn't it?
But this whole thing is kinda silly. I had a chance to go to Georgia Tech but chose to go to Ayantee. People were like why would you got to Ayantee over Tech. Why? Because I f-in wanted to go to Ayantee. This kid wanted to f-in go to Gardner-Webb. Let him go there and get his asss whupped and have a new coach next year.
side note: the guy in the cube next to me smells like skrate liquor today. Wtf?
The coaches aren't recruiting to satisfy us. They're recruiting to coach players that will help them keep their jobs. And you wanna compare that to picking up a girl at a dance in Moore Gym? That's just silly. These coaches have been successful for years doing CHICKEN. It's foolish to be upset over the way they recruit when it's led to the top of the conference in multiple years. It's twice as foolish when you consider how pleased most of us were with the recruits of the prior two regimes in comparison.
If they get the kids that they can get and get the most out of them and keep them off the police blotter and make sure they graduate then what are we actually complaining about here?

All I do get the point in all of this...BUT, you don't want to miss out on a kid from your backyard that goes somewhere else and makes you pay. IE see Clemson/Alabama...the receiver for Clemson that ripped Bama's secondary to shreds was from the state of Alabama. He basically became the big one that got away and then made them pay. We sit here and act like its no big deal until it plays out on the field that's when everyone will be up and arms.
