He's a game changer, but he also benefited from carrying the burden with Cartwright. I honestly wish there was another running back who could step up to complement Martin in that same way. I haven't seen it so far.

We had a banger like Cartwright to get the inside yards and soften up the D . We don't have that yet but going forward A&T needs to find that type of runner .

His last TD was a Tarik Cohen type of run. Great to see.

He stepped up when we needed him the most. Martin bailed out an underwhelming offensive gameplan.

His last TD was a Tarik Cohen type of run. Great to see. That was awesome, as he ran down field with a great number of their team around him, and made all of them miss. Made me think about T Cohen too.

Martin Runs For 299 In Aggies Comeback Win Over CSU NCATAGGIES.COMSAT, SEP 14 CHARLESTON, S.C. – There is truly a tradition of greatness at the running back position at a university when 299 yards rushing is the third-best single-game performance in the football program’s history. Junior running back Jah-Maine Martin added to the lore that is Running Back U., at N.C. A&T by rushing for 299 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Aggies to a come-from-behind 27-21 win over Charleston Southern Saturday night at Buccaneer Field. Former Aggie running back Maurice Hicks holds the best two performances with a then NCAA record 437 yards rushing at Morgan State in 2001 and 353 yards rushing against S.C. State in 2000. Martin’s two touchdowns went for 84 and 76 yards respectively. His 84-yard run is the fifth-best in school history tied with Tarik Cohen (2016) and Michael Basnight (1996). “Our running backs coach (Shawn Gibbs) always tells us that running backs have to be the spark plugs of the offense,” said Martin. “I put that in my head and said, ‘Hey it’s time to go for it.’” For the rest of the story:www.ncataggies.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=24500&ATCLID=211811736

I'd like to see him catch more passes out of the backfield. Nevertheless it is clear the legacy of RBU continues. #wedochicken

We're going to need a backup plan though.

It'd be nice if he could keep up the pace. Of course he probably will not have a lot of 299 yards rushing games but we got a lot of season left. link1 Jah-Maine Martin N.C.
