Dowdy, Attles and Jones. But Jones is not an Aggie. You're right. The caption read. “Al Attles, center, former basketball star with the A & T College Aggies, now with the San Francisco Warriors, and Sam Jones, right, former North Carolina College star, now with the Boston Celtics, were honored at A & T College, when their teams met in a regular season NBA basketball game in Greensboro. They talk with Dr. Lewis C. Dowdy, right, president of A & T College, who presented them plaques from A&T students and faculty in recognition of their contributions in human relations and achievements in athletics in basketball. The presentations were made at a luncheon in their honor.” I'll have another one later BTW, the title reads "Name These Aggies and others".

JB must've used some kind of Google image search to get the last one right.
So, the Aggie in the suit is the same Aggie with the ball, but who is he? If you don't know number 75, it's time to implement a banning policy or at least a public shaming.

Sorry Kev, that's only half credit. Where's aggieblackie, aggie62, SixtiesAggies?
Anyways: That's the great Mel Phillips, number 32 in the program number 1 in your heart!
It's my understanding, Mel Phillips was the highest draft choice in the state of North Carolina in 1966 From: Shelby , NC 12 NFL Seasons, all with the San Francisco 49ers 28 years as a NFL assistant with the Dolphins & Lions

Mel Phillips played both ways and was a great running back. He was extremely tough.
My good friend Elvin Bethea was a physical specimen who was always in shape and badddd! NFL Hall of Famer.

I had a chance to drive Elvin Bethea through the GHOE parade as the Grand Marshall some years back and he is a class act! He signed an Aggie football for me in which I still have displayed in my man cave. Sent from my SM-G950U using proboards

These two Aggie Basketball Champions have a common distinction, what is it? A special bonus will be applied if you can name the guy pointed out by the arrow. 1959 Champions 1964 Champions

Hornsby Howell in both photos. Looks like Hugh (arrow) was an assistant. Davis, Jackson and McHartley have big smiles. The team from 1959 was the best to lace up sneakers at A&T.

Elvin Bethea is # 75 Elvin live two doors down from me on the second floor of Scott Hall my freshman year. Guys could get really loud in Scott Hall but when Elvin poked his head out his dorm door, folks scattered like roaches. what I remember about Mel was he always seemed to have a cast on his arm when he was playing ball. One game it was gone and the next week it was back. I don't know if he just kept reinjuring it or if it never really healed.

Hugh Evans is a former basketball referee in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for 28 seasons from 1972 to 2001. During his NBA officiating career, Evans worked 1,969 regular season NBA games and 35 NBA Finals games. During the 1995–96 NBA season, Evans was ranked the second best official in the league by coaches, general managers, and NBA Senior Vice President, Basketball Operations Rod Thorn.[1] His final game was Game 4 of the 2001 NBA Finals, played at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 13, 2001. Evans wore the uniform number 25 during his career in the NBA. Evans was drafted in the 12th round (80th selection overall) of the 1962 NBA Draft by the St. Louis Hawks. Instead of playing in the NBA, he elected to go into baseball and spent three years in the San Francisco Giants minor league organization. In the late 1960s, Evans decided to go into officiating in New York City and later in 1972 was hired by the NBA.
I completely missed Hornsby Howell. Wow!

Anybody know what brought the "Big Dipper" to Moore Gym in 1966? 1.) Who is the dude (I assume) with Wilt? Though he looks familiar, I don't have a clue. Maybe, just maybe they were there to see the original 'Beast from the East". 2.) Who is the 'Beast from the East"?
