N.C. A&T to host college-tech industry summit
By John Newsom john.newsom@greensboro.com GREENSBORO — N.C. A&T is playing host this week to a new event that will bring together leaders from the tech industry and historically black colleges. About 150 senior officials from industry, higher education and government are expected to attend the first HBCU Diversity in Tech Summit. The event started Wednesday and continues today. The invite-only summit was put together by U.S. Rep. Alma Adams, the A&T graduate and longtime Greensboro resident who now represents Charlotte in Congress. As the co-chairwoman of the bipartisan HBCU Caucus in Congress, Adams thought it was important to bring together college and industry leaders to help build a diverse talent pipeline.
