Six on one side and a half dozen on the other plus they will compliment each other this could be a great year The only point of concern is that you will have new playcallers on both sides of the ball.

I like what I'm reading. I hope that this depth helps against running QB's. The last few years I have been out of my mind seeing QB's pulling the ball down and scrambling for the first down.

I think that will happen on occasion but, what you found last year, teams could not make a living consitently with the qb running the whole game. Remember, Central's qb was supposed to be a running qb but, over the course of the game he was forced to stay in the pocket and make throws that he couldn't make. It's harder than you think to make accurate throws under pressure and running for your life. Now, from my understanding, the exception to this theory is Newton up at Howard. But, they would have to stop our offense too...

Tre Smalls is still playing Defensive End (switched positions in the Spring) He is also coming off of shoulder surgery.

Kinda surprises me as he seems on the small side to be a def end but he does have long arms. Sacks are great but think how many time Darrel Johnson affected the pass or tipped a ball even when the ol lineman sealed the edge.

So yall think we should just pencil this guy in right now at the Rover position? Nah..... just like we didn't pencil in Jamari Smith or Richie Kittles after transferring from FBS schools. Top FCS schools are basically FBS-caliber talent with less scholarships. The reality is that we're almost there with our talent pool.

It's pretty cool to see Jacksonville State giving us a little respect on their message board. I guess we're progressing in the right direction.
Keep letting the Iron sharpen Iron lol
It's all up to our coaches now to get it done.

I am sure we have horses to replace JT from a talent standpoint but, JT's instincts were off the charts. He just knee where to be all the time. I hope the coaching can help our youngins in the stable but, some of that is just the player knowing how to play the game. I'm hoping the d-line can help us early on until our young guys can fill that role adequately.
