Blah blah blah, cry me a river. I like the gamezone concept, what makes it a logistical nightmare are the security measures. People can get a tailgate spot outside the fenced I area. Who cares if people like it? It's pound for penny stupid. 💰💰💰.. I like cookout shakes friend wings and fries.. doesn't mean it's good for me.🤷

I say leave it as it is, it's not broke! I'm for safety and convenience, the school does not have security or maintenance capacity to have an overflow of people in the stadium area. It's already hard enough to get around during HC in the game zone. I'm not greedy, and I don't think 5 and dime tickets will make that much of a difference than already having people pay $35 and $50 dollars. The system is so broke it's embarrassing. Just because it works doesn't mean it's not broke. Were missing out on hundreds of thousands a year because it's so broke. Should a person sitting on the away side far corner pay the same as the person sitting on the home side beside the band. There is a thing called value, supply and demand simple principles that are just ignored. The Gamezone is a logistical nightmare period. We need to revamp the whole thing, to reflect that we are in the 21st century. Seating chart, ticket prices, everything. To say that all of Aggie Football is General or reserved is short sighted. We're too worried about the freeloaders using the bathroom for free. Meanwhile we've lost millions since this thing has been implemented. Oh well as long as someone doesn't eat a hot dog that I didn't pay for..we're good. You're not getting sell outs for every game, so this is irrelevant!

Back to this topic, I still am perplexed about why we decided to fabricate some phony stadium numbers out of thin air.
I am not so much concerned about the lie ... as I am why we felt the need to lie in the first place in an official press release.

I still think we are low balling how many people are actually at our games. Look at the official attendance in 2001 vs FAMU in the same facility. Somebody decided to or were told to stop reporting the actual number. BTW save your breath if you're going to say anything about a fire marshal. Somehow local politics drove that decision on reporting that 21500 number every sellout IMO. I still think it's silly because many schools report accurate standing room only (SRO) numbers.
Scoring Summary (Final) 2001 Florida A&M Football Florida A&M vs North Carolina A&T (Oct 13, 2001 at Greensboro, NC) Florida A&M (4-2,4-1) vs. North Carolina A&T (4-2,2-1)
Date: Oct 13, 2001 • Site: Greensboro, NC • Stadium: Aggie • Attendance: 34769
I was at the stadium that day. We had temporary bleachers on the field house end, but they probably only held about 3000 seats if that. As far as where they got the 27K number from, who knows but we can certainly get that number in the stadium.

There's only a few reasons why I can think we would try to play loose with the numbers like that ... and all of them are bad. A few are probably illegal.
When you are fudging numbers that have a dollar amount attached to them, that's when people with way more power than me start asking questions.
If we are reporting 21,500 tickets sold and we are actually selling way more than that, somebody is gonna have to manage the additional revenue and try to keep it secret. And that is where the problems arise.

The press release might've had an unexplainable typo.

The press release might've had an unexplainable typo. That exact number was used by the university in several different releases.

They might've pulled it from the initial unexplainable typo. I think every press release I've read unfortunately has a typo I've found somewhere.
Now how you mistype numbers that bad is beyond me but hey, we did hire he whose name shall not be mentioned on this site to "coach" the team once upon a time so stranger things have happened.
It would surprise me if it's an unexplainable typo because it's unexplainable. It wouldn't surprise me if they did just pull the number from the original press release without checking its accuracy.
It's a separate issue but imo if you can't square up little things like this it's reckless to be mentioning FBS football. You will not see any FBS team misquoting their stadium capacity.

The only capacity number I've seen for the past 20+ years is 21,500......all of these other numbers.....oh well.

The cover-up is worse than the crime.
Why.Did.We.Lie?

The cover-up is worse than the crime. Why.Did.We.Lie? Im completely ignorant on this topic, but I was wondering if the additional seating in the skybox increases the overall stadium capacity?

We dispelled that myth a few pages back.
It didn't.

Still wanna know why we lied about our seating capacity. Money??? Capacity for other events outside of Football/Track??? What other events other than football and track & field would bring over 21,500 people into the stadium...unless you add the entire GameZone??
Now that should be easy to track, since tickets are needed to enter the GameZone.
STILL, my biggest unanswered question is: EXACTLY how many seats are in Aggie Stadium and Corbett Sports Arena??
