I really hope this is not a situation like "Man, these guys are trash, terrible and unorganized without Broadway at the helm. Let me get the F out of her while the getting is good". I had to be the one to put that out there since no one else would say it. ?? There you go putting crap in my head!

welp, as i alway say, time will tell. heck, its within my nature to be nervous about things like this. its like the last seconds or minutes of a game when we have the lead, i can't let my guard down until the "fat lady sings" (zero seconds on the clock), unless we have an insurmountable lead.
kinda the same when coach broadway first announced his retirement. i felt like i really couldn't feel completely comfortable until i see with my own eyes that coach washington can pickup from where coach broadway left off, knowing fully that anytime there's a new head coach, its not "automatic" that we won't miss a beat. this is exactly why i didn't wanna play both jsu and ecu in washington's first season. there's no cupcakes on our schedule this year, but i think it would've served coach washington well had we had at least 1 cupcake.
however, even though i automatically get a little nervous whenever a new "first time" head coach follows a legend, at first i still felt pretty good knowing that essentially our entire staff was returning (other than coach broadway of course). but now throw in a new "first time" head coach along with a departing oc, and i can't help but think about how wssu fell "back to the pack" after hayes/maynor left.
but like i said, time will tell. i do believe there's hope. i do think we can adjust to hester's departure. but there's a lot of "unknowns" that concern me until the season starts. it'll take at least 4 games this season for me to really get a feel for how coach washington is gonna workout. clearly we're all hoping for the best...

Maybe he wants to be closer to home...he is from Raleigh. His kids are in college, correct? He drives how far to work and home everyday? As people’s parents get older we often want to move closer, hell of an opportunity to pass up...being 45 minutes from home and a head football coach. In my opinion the positives outway being an OC at A&T and having to travel back and forth everyday.
Don’t forget our passing game coordinator is still on the staff, the kid from Guilford College. Hopefully he doesn’t go to Barton with Hester.
Stay positive guys.

Man talk about Hester is turning into a maybe this are may be that as the reason he took the job at Barton College . Get Real people this is not about him leaving Alabama or North Carolina get real Gents I don't need a reason other then he took the job at Barton and left A&T in good standing . He didn't take any players with him did he No , so let the man leave without all these conspiracies popping up from a few of you. Wish him luck at his next stop . Because he will not be the first nor the last coach to leave one program for another !

Yall are acting like we expected him to sign a lifetime contract. We just dont want our program put in a bad position this close to the regular season.

He'll be alright.
Two years before he coaches a game, two more years before fans and alumni demand a winning season.
He can put up Lee Fobbs numbers and still bring in well over half a million dollars before he gets on the hot seat.

Hester won't starve. He ain't stupid. They more than likely gave him a good contract- making more than he did at A&T.

Have we lost a game yet ? If we have the talent that we think we have we will be just fine ! it sounds to me that's some of you do not trust coach Washington and his staff and are looking for a scapegoat already just in case we do not have a productive season ! I'm all in with Washington an staff , the day Broadway retired I was all in for his successor. We have the talent and we have the coaches that know our system and as the saying goes " When one falls the next one steps up " are is hired . So cut the rumor crap out !

We play a top 10 team on August 25. Today is June 20. Right now we have a first-year head coach, a first-year defensive coordinator, a fill-in offensive coordinator who has not called plays in 3 years and no WR coach on staff. Is that a good position to be in?

Is that a good position to be in? Not for me but I look at things differently 1. We have a veteran quad 2. All of the coaches have been in the system for two years or more 3. Any good coach worth his salte doesn't just sit in the Box watching the other coach call plays , trust me who ever work alongside Hester learned to think like Hester ! No we are not in a bad position !!!
