dang!! he said our grass looked "majestic"! that's wonderful!! hope we can keep it that way. but he was wrong about us and ssu being the only meac schools who play on natural grass. instead, we're the "only" meac school who plays on natural grass, everybody else has field turf...

I have Bermuda in my yard it is a drought / heat tolerant grass first freeze it goes dormant. Maybe they can extend the season on how long it stays green with a cover otherwise pray no hard freeze before mid November.

Nothing can kill that stuff and its still green even in the middle of January.

The last time I emailed him about it he had not completely ruled it out. He was even going back and forth as to whether or not is was better to turf the stadium or the practice field. I would expect a decision within the next two years.

Is it possible to keep Bermuda green after October? Perhaos NS has the best solution?

heck, i gotta be honest. at first, i didn't mind having natural grass as long as we keep it green. but now, even if we keep green, i still like the field turf better. man, it just looks a lot better, especially on tv.
field turf in aggie stadium would be absolutely "beautiful"...

It depends on the weather Bermuda goes dormit with a heavy frost and certainly on a freeze . You can always overseesd with winter rye that grows on top of the burmuda . It takes several days of temp not rising above 32 to make rye go dormant so rye will stay green pretty much all winter
I am speaking from experience on my own yard

We get field turf and i believe it will affect track It may but it will be worth it in the long run . If they are going to get Fieldturf they should put it in before laying the new track . Mondo tracks are real delicate and should not be having a lot of unnecessary traffic on its surface .
