Does playing on natural grass give our lineman a competitive advantage? Slowing down our biggest rivals who play on artificial turf? How did our lineman perform in the most recent Celebration Bowl? Was that field turf an advantage or disadvantage?

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. We’re an agricultural school. We have students that major in this stuff. They should be creating new types of grass for us to use, trademark, and sell. We could even create an athletic field maintenance major. Missed opportunities. I agree. Perhaps we could even get a grant or two from MLB, NFL or MSL. We need to turn this into an opportunity. The Department of Agriculture offers Grants that a number of Agriculture schools are talking advantage of .

Was that field turf an advantage or disadvantage? I wish people would stop with that BS . There is only a slight difference speed wise between field Turf and natural grass if the grass is properly maintain . Also I'm at the KC & TEN game and looking down at the field . This is a professional team with Browning spots all over the field from wear and tear . I don't know if you can see the condition of the field on TV but the have dibbet gray and Browning patches all over the field .

As I said probably twice on this thread ....you overseed with perinneal rye grass in late summer early fall... you got green grass all year round. Rye grass dies out in the hot summer sun but by then the Bermuda grass is green. So Bermuda is the base turf and temporary rye grows on top of the Bermuda grass
I have done it my own yard at least 5 times . There are 2 drawbacks 1. You cutting grass year round at the rye grass will not go dormant unless there is and extended period of extreme cold below 25 for 4-5 days 2. Rye grass almost bleeds green so some extra work to get out grass stains on uniforms
There is nothing difficult about this...

But a lot of gray to brown patches and a lot more Browning in the middle of the field . This is a pro teams field it should look a lot better then it does. KC is my team Arrowhead's field should look better than that for the playoffs .

Suppose T had a beautiful green manicured playing field and were perennial losers as some teams are. Would this matter?
I would rather play on our present field and be winners than play on a window dressing field and be losers.
By the way, the "6" people who want "turf" and or green grass should spend your energy talking to Mr. Martin about getting the grass turned green.
Go see him because going back and forth on this site ain't changed "jack". Go see Martin and the Board of Trustees.
Ask him why he has not changed to green grass or green turf. For the umpteenth time it is not high on his priority list.
Ask him why and report back to us and let us know what he said.

Why do you continue to act as if this is a binary option?
Green grass and winning do not have to be mutually exclusive. We can have both.
A lot of winning programs, college and professional, have both.

The Optics of the stadium not only help with recruiting it also can be and important when acquiring sponsorships for Aggie Stadium . And you are correct Chancellor Martin should be asked and should provide and answer to why the field is not properly maintained . I know that there is someone on the thread among all of us posters that has the ear of Chancellor Martin and may have been provided with a answer but they are not providing it to us . It is what it is and we will revisit this field conversation again as always until the field problem is resolved and then we will move on to something else LOL .

Why don't we just invest money in getting the Football Field exactly like it supposed to be.
