Scott Hall was not the Hilton or White House but it served it's purpose. Scott was like a city in a city. You could find anything you wanted drugs, gambling, women, bootlegging, studious students, sun downers, thieves, pretenders, gays and more.
My point is that Scott Hall the famous Scott Hall was diverse and that taught me a lot. I learned to befriend and get along with guys from all walks of life and from different countries.
We had an outstanding man in charge of Scott Hall in Dean McCoy. He taught us life's lessons that helped us grow up from an unsure freshman into the early stages of manhood.
Scott Hall took the brunt of many bullets leveled at the brave young men in Scott Hall by the Greensboro Police Department and the NC Army National Guard during one of our many riots.
I had great times and sad times in Scott. I loved to live in the basement because of it's easy excess to get to my classes. I could also slip young ladies into my room easily also.
Many young men pledged various Greek organization and Social organization in the basement of Scott Hall.
Scott Hall was at one time the largest male dorm, I heard in the country. If it was not it was close.
I still cherish and remember certain incidents and situations that I experienced living in Scott Hall.Scott Hall was a teaching and learning environment that helped prepare me for life!

You know I've never heard any other HBCU grad mention "sundowners" (or their equivalent) on their campuses but it was a major"student classification" when I was at A&T in the mid 1960s. If your roommate got drafted and had to leave school, hell the sundowners knew it before the university did. And as far as I know, no Scott Hall resident ever considered turning them in.

Do you know where or how the term "Sun Downers" originated?
